wait just one second here crazy thought process going

Quote:
Use the clues obtained on the notepad along with the artifacts on the table.

Ok lets do that

Quote:
Rush to where the treasure stands

not really sure

Quote:
Look on water for it is inspiration

that could be like the famous scene of washington crossing the river

Quote:
In dark times the words form

only think I can think of is the declaration of Independence

Quote:
Match the tune with an early drinking song

ok so that has been said to be the star spangled banner

Quote:
Mist half cover the symbol

I am thinking of two things here the declaration and washingtons crossing symbol being the American flag.

Quote:
In burning light, the plan is laid

This is very odd the way it is worded. The plan is laid? What plan are we talking about. Could this be going back to the declaration.

Quote:
Artifacts on Table

Everyone agrees that we are looking at Washington D.C. on that table. I am starting to think that we should be thinking more about George Washington intstead of the place Washington D.C.

Is there anything anyone can add, take away or use to make a better guess at all of this, or am I going down the wrong path?

The Genworth coordinates

Rory and RPG,

The coordinates in the Genworth book are actually the location of the Genworth Financial Headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.

Cheers....

Richmont VA? How close it that to Arlington Cemitary? (I know it is misspelled, just deal with it.)

treasure hunters

As far as the coordinates given in the Gentworth book - I thought that they were to be used-when they let us know-to get another free pass thingy.

The only thing that I can think of that is even close dealing with earliest America is Jamestown or Williamsburg.

Still scratching my head.

You can get an actual map of The Mall off of gov./edu sites that will mark each memorial or building that you all have mentioned.

Those maps show how the site previously mentioned (that shows the puzzle finished) matches exactly how the National Mall is configured.

http://www.bcpl.net/~etowner/anacreon.html

The above site also shows the words and music to the Anacreontic Song. The early english drinking song that FSKey used for the star bangled banner.

Now this web site shows that Mary Pickersgill was commissioned to make a large flag to fly at Ft. McHenry. According to legend in Baltimore Maryland where I grew up that was the flag that inspired F.S. Key to write the star spangled banner.

This house is very close to Little Italy where I spent a lot of my childhood with my cousins. Back in those days the Harbor Place was nothing by docks and waterfront wharehous structures. However we visited the Betsy Ross house as it was called many times.

Ft. McHenry is also on the water as most everyone knows.

RPGame-you seem to brainstorm very, very well. You may have already have this info stuck in your grey matter, but I thought I would get it out there for anyone who hasn't visited the above sites.

I know -blah!blah!blah! yadda yadda yadda. Did not mean to write so much. Rolling Eyes

Too Easy! Good Luck! And see ya next Monday Night!

treasure hunters

aliendial I agree with you about the puzzle being not so perfect.

I was just generalizing as I think the puzzle is also made to generalize as well.

Did anyone take notes or keep track of the dates mentioned in all 6 puzzles-if there were any?

I think I may go back and check.

Also what area of time does the map where all the transportation vehicles travel look like to anyone else.

I was working on a thought continuing on the flag issue.

When F.S. Key worked on the Star Spangled Banner poem-supposedly the flag made by Mary Young Pickersgill was his inspiration. Remember he was held on a British ship or boat while he wrote the poem. It was during the 1814 Battle of Baltimore at Ft. McHenry which is not that far from Washington D.C.

Also when Mary was making the flag (it was a really big one-each stripe was 2 ft. high and each star was 2 ft. high) she had to lay it on a brewery floor that was close to her home in Baltimore to work on it properly.

This flag is said to be the most revered flag of all time since it was the inspiration for The Star Spangled Banner.

I don't know if this really ties in with our clues on the notepad or not, just brainstorming.

That 1814 flag that flew over Ft. McHenry during the battle is now in the Smithsonian Institutes National Museum of American History.

Also it is said that each time the flag changed in how many stripes or stars the first one made always flew over Ft. McHenry before any others flew elsewhere. (another trivia fact-Mary Pickersgill was born in 1776.)

This guy seems to think he found the answer, but he won't indulge, but he did give a clue to what his answer is.

"No, I'm not going to give it away now, since the game is still going on, and I don't need the competiton, but I'll give you a hint ... Patrick Henry would be having a tea party in Brooklyn if he knew what I was thinking."

what would patrick henry have to do with it? "give me liberty or give me death!"

Patrick Henry

* Born May 29, 1736 in Hanover County, Virginia
* Protested British tyranny
* Symbol of American struggle for liberty
* Served in the Virginia House of Burgesses and the Continental Congress
* Three-time governor of Virginia
* Delivered the famous "Give me liberty or give me death!" speech. Listen to the speech.
* Died June 6, 1799 at Red Hill Plantation, Virginia

Well there you go, I think the guy doesn't know it
