The message is actually I SEEK THY REEF, and I think the only part that needs unscrambling is the word that is circled on the notepad. Your anagram suggestion helped me a lot, though.

haha you're right i was too excited an added an extra S when I was typing there, at least I left it out of my anagram! DOH

Ok Guys

Here are some random thoughts brought to you by 3 people that did not even know this game existed-only recently heard of the TV show-and do not like puzzles. I thought of asking them in case they saw the obvious.

1. That puzzle tray looks like a key.

2. Which puzzle piece came first, second etc.

3. Which building belongs to which sentence on the clue pad.

4. Is that poem on the spiral pad by Emerson or Robin Williams?

5. I remember some of those phrases from my gr. grandpa when he
would try to tell me how my family got to Ohio (he is african american).

When I said random-I meant it.

Any thoughts.

This is from memory.

Quote:
When you are on the boat you get the diving bag & goggles from the locker. You have to shooo away the seagull to open the red box to get a flashlight. Then you go into the water (walk over to the edge of the boat).

Once in the water, use your cursor to direct your diver to the right and down to pick up items. The first two items you won't use, the last item you find will be the gold coin (you can see the coin if you don't have the flashlight). DON'T RUN OUT OF AIR...remember to go back to the surface to refill your oxygen.

Go back to the boat. The seagull will knock over your backpack and you have to go back into the water to pick it up. Look inside. Stuff is ruined. Go inside the office and get the Emergency Support department on the line to order your new backpack (and a nice helicopter).

Go to Mexico City (where the coin comes from). Slide puzzle pieces around to create the pretty sculpture (or, use your last insurance policy to skip it). Get your last puzzle piece.

Back in the library put all your puzzle pieces into the National Mall "key" and you should hear a click - that is the secret door behind the fireplace. Go through that and you are in the atrium that looks like it is underwater. Open the book and print out the pdf page. Follow directions on folding and cutting to create your 5 pointed star. Down the center are 5 symbols, use that as the key for the combination lock (careful, there are two different doors, if the first doesn't work, try the other door on the reel). I hear you have to have them lined up perfectly. You're last clue is in that box.

Treasure Hunters had a Volvo???? Isn't that PoTH?

My cell phone was turned off because I was on a plane. No email, no phone message. But I wasn't expecting anything.

Sigh.

According to a post on the NBC boards, some guy says the answer was the Lincoln Memorial. Wtf? Because it was in the background of the last room? People over there say he's a liar, the answer won't be made public until today or tomorrow or Monday or something. Others are saying "I knew it was LM all along" based on some crazy and some stupid things (like the LM puzzle piece was the first one, so that must be it). Most seem to have no inkling that the map was screwed up...

edit more: And those posts were all about a call going out 10 AM yesterday, not today. There's another thread there from a woman in a wheelchair who claims she won too, and while not sure which was right, the only answers she ever gave were Washington DC and National Museum of American History. And then further spec that she's a liar, or if they're both telling the truth maybe the answer was just DC and we were all right. Or that the Lincoln Memorial is where the TV show will end but not the online game. Gah!

In phone news, my phone now turns on, but I can't answer it. So if they call I can litterly watch as the chance of a lifetime passes by as I swear at my phone.

If you know your password, isn't there another way to dial into your mailbox? You could do that on my old Sprint phone, like through the main Sprint wireless number...

Well the game is over, and it looks like we didn't win, but I think we need one more over the top speech.

We played this game better then anyone else out there. It got to the point that people were joining this board just to get help from us. This thread was a lot of people's 1st post. In away that means people looked up to us, and we very well could have kept the answers to ourselfs, but helping people came before money, and not to many people can say they do that. I also think that we were the first team to get the map, so go us! The way I see it we have everything to be proud of. Well except winning. We can't be proud about that.

Anyway on to new buissness. 1. We talked about someone heading down there with a team seatbelt sign. Anyone still doing that?

2. Well I really want to do this show. Now I could get my friends to do this wih me but you know what would be a good gimmick? 3 people who have never meet face to face, but often chated on a puzzle message board. What I am saying is, is there anyone that would do it with me?

Congrats to the winners and what to do in Washington

I think lots of us guessed Lincoln Memorial in the beginning for lack of other clues. Also, I think we talked about how the clues could refer to slavery and freeing of the slaves - the clue "match the tune to an early drinking song" I think goes to both "Follow the Drinking Gourd" and the "Star Spangled Banner."

The people on the Treasure Hunters board did pretty much what everyone does, make the clues fit the answer they think it is. As I mentioned before, these clues were ambigous and they continued to be very vague throughout the whole show -- if you look at them without an answer already in mind.

This was a crap shoot anyway as they included people who just mailed in entries in their winners. (At least they didn't have to deal with designing a contest where the first three people with the right answer win. I think that is a tough one for an online world-wide contest to do fairly.)

Now I think we need to consided doing the real life treasure event in Washington. http://ravenchase.com/id55.html

What day is the show filming - will we have any warning? After the middle of next week, I have some time off before I dive into another big project after Labor Day.
