New Riddle Game for Movie Buffs

hi,

i would really like to share my super-cool awesome new riddle with the unfiction world, so here goes..

er.. maybe i should introduce myself first...i'm new to this site, but no newbie to timewasting. i've played a bit of notpron, frvade, occasionally attempt to participate in cwot invasion and am a certified cerebral-x temp-ender. hmm...that sounded like a resume. Laughing

anyway, i have a 45-level (growing daily) movie-themed riddle at
http://www.astrognome.net/Movie_Trail/intro.html

i have about a dozen players, but nobody has reached the end yet. i hope through this site, i may reach more gamers to spread the joy of my vision.

yes i am insane.

no, i am not a danger to myself or society.

please play my riddle.

thank you for your time. Very Happy

Okay, I *thought* I knew the first answer but I can't get any of my tries to work. In any event, thanks to screamqueen for asking before posting this, because she actually read the rules of these forums. Smile

Assuming that means you know we are a collaborative group around here and unless told we can't, we share our speculations, usually using a
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's Vincent D'Onofrio as Private Leonard 'Gomer Pyle' Lawrence in Full Metal Jacket. Or just Pvt. Pyle, for short.
Tag.
That said, I can't get anything to work for a next level. Any 'rules' for proper solve entries?

I'm assuming the answer is the second movie mentioned in the source rogi, since i too tried all those things. I have no idea what that second movie is.

they are all pretty much covered on the intro page.
basically, all answers are lowercase.
underscores go where spaces would be.
only the very last part of the url needs to be changed, and all answers end in .html

if you know the actor, imdb is a huge help, especially for level 1.

depending on how familiar you are with the movies pictured, some will require a bit of research and some you will already know.

for instance, if you have seen the movie in level 2 more than once, you should just know the answer by looking at the source code.

also, the levels don't get progressively more difficult (yet...after level 50, i might make them a little more challenging), level 1 is just one of the tough ones.

here's a little jump-start for level 1 to get the ball rolling:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

know the movie? good. know the actor? great.
in the pictured movie, he plays a soldier during a volatile time in us hisory. in the movie referenced in the source code, he plays a character who is the exact opposite (of a soldier) during the same time period.

also, you can substitute 'levitate' for 'raise', if it helps.

the answer is the building

heh. Finally got it. Tricky.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Abbie Hoffman in Steal this Movie tried to lift the Pentagon.

Totally missed the intro text.
I was trying to make Edgar from Men in Black work till you hinted at the period.

EDIT: Also spent some time trying to figure out why the pic was named shotgun instead of M1 Garand.

This leads to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In Mystery Men, Daddy's name was Carmine

And then to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Not sure about Leeloo, but in The Fifth Element, Korbin tells the cops he's a meat popsicle

On the next one, I can't figure out who "BM" is supposed to be in
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Benicio Monserrate Rafael Del Toro Sanchez.

However I can't make that work.

Hunter S. Thompson was played by Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and by Bill Murray in Where the Buffalo Roam

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In Boogie Nights, Dirk Diggler and Reed Rothchild star in a series of movies under alternate names. You need Dirk's other stage name for this one.

ETA: I'm confused as to what constitutes an appropriate hint and what doesn't. The previous posters had links to the next pages in the series, too.

God knows how i didnt get that before, oh well moving on..

The only reason i dont like only giving hints is because it then tends to become a 20 page thread on people asking for the answer in hints. But i understand why you ask.

10

FYI. There is an answer on 11 that jumps you to level 25. Thought I'd mention it in case the creator wants to do something with 24/25 prior to us working our way up to it.
