[SPEC] Standford Drop and Rituals

First, there's information and a suggestion at Sue's blog.

Second, it looks like we're going to need to get an understanding of the Ritual of Release since it's so firmly related to the Ritual of Binding.

Sue's going to have to make a vessel, and have a "water element" handy.
And by "handy", I mean that she's going to have to hold it and say the word "emet" three times. I'm thinking a glass of water, or perhaps a cube of ice.

The information's off of the typed page with Charles' notes on the side.

The post-it notes seem to refer to prior drops.

The last page with the circular text seems to give us the answers, but couched in more ritualistic context.

I have to leave for my event. I'm proposing a transcript so that we can get a more thorough discussion going.

Thoughts?

Since no one's come forward, should we ask Kirby about picking up the package this weekend?

A friend picked up the deaddrop for us.

It was a CD with these files on it:

charlesabri.mp3
document scan.jpg
notes.txt
secrets.txt

Contents of notes.txt:
Quote:

Notes for the Spirit section of the nomad ritual.

Nomads believe spirit = mind + voice + movement. Suppress those and the spirit withers.

Silence a Voice...
Based on my research, 'voice' is a poor translation. The original phrase might be better written as 'creative expression' or 'communication device'.

Destroy a Memory
What would the antipode be? Create? Preserve?

There's no written record of the final sacrifice (the sacrifice of life) which indicates that the ritual is a simple one. It seems likely that the sacrificial vessel (that is, the human whose body and spirit have been prepared) could merely be overwhelmed by the spirit once in close physical proximity. Although this process might take some hours, it's possible that a willing sacrifice could fulfill the process almost immediately.

I have been cautioned that merely hiding this ritual may not be enough to keep it out of the wrong hands. Further details are concealed by a one time pad that only my Cypher compatriot knows.

Excellent. Serious thanks to your contact! Summary and instructions for Sue? She's waiting for an answer.

Back to the Con,

great, unbreakable then.

So who is the compatriot? Would this be the mysterious Aubrey on the audio file?

Have any wakeful agents tried emailing Kevin, to see if they can find out something about Abri? Maybe he's got a lead the can take us to the one-time page.

I emailed kevin, got him up to date with the newest drop, but as of yet I have no response. It may be that aubrey is not his compatriot, but I think that is our best lead. Since Burke is the one who told kevin where to find the clay pieces, maybe she is aubrey... Have to wait for a response to find out i suppose.
