No, I'm just qualified to be in the finale scheduled for June 24. Haven't received and email yet but from what I understand,
winners of the weekly puzzles will receive an email with instructions for what that are to do next. Maybe one of the qualifiers
(winners) from last week could tell you more about the email.

Congrats Sylvia! Wink
Last weeks winners haven't received the email yet.

Question 1: What was the first true roller coaster built in the United states, where was it built, and in what year?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
America's amusement park history begins on Coney Island in 1875. Railway companies, in search of ways to keep passenger usage up on the weekends, set up parks here at the end of the rail lines and introduced weekend and summer activities. The first rides at these parks were carousels, but in 1884, the first gravity switchback train was introduced. This was the first true roller coaster in America.

you can find other answers here....

Well, at least you have some tickets. I'm one of the unlucky ones that emailed Dale for some. They're either not come in yet or not come in ever. Crying or Very sad

[Edit] I'd also like to help if that's at all possible. Though someone'd have to post question or IM them or something...

I submitteed the answers - first at least for UFers - so wish me luck. So long as I beat the damn nonUFers, I'll be in the finals. If i win, I'll be sharing my passes to AGP with UF members. Love you all and thanks for the help.

June 10th Answers

Answers are up.

Ash Grove Park Winning GIFT TICKET number: 375052

[This is mine, sort of. It's really konashark's email, who will be listed as Brad Hunter/vegas_atc if names are used. I submitted answers about 5 minutes after Dio. I knew what coaster he used in the final section so I picked a different one - from Coney Island - as my answer. I have not received any email confirmation or instructions regarding June 24th yet. Probably won't get that until after all the finalists have been selected]

One of the favorite rides at Ash Grove Park is one of our roller coasters, Aladdin's Carpet. How much do you know about roller coasters?

Question 1: What was the first true roller coaster built in the United states, where was it built, and in what year? Please answer all three parts of the question.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Switchback Gravity Pleasure Railway, built in Coney Island, in 1884

Question 2: More roller coaster firsts -
a) What was the first inverted roller coaster?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Batman the Ride

b) What was the first wooden coaster with a loop?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Son of Beast

c) What roller coaster featured the first backwards facing train?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Racer

d) What was the first floorless roller coaster?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Medusa

e) What roller coaster featured the first dueling inverted coasters?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Dueling Dragons

[The last coaster is featured at Universal Island of Adventure in Orlando, home of ARGFest2]

Of course, you need a ticket to ride a roller coaster.

Question 3: Below are 84 different ADMIT ONE ticket numbers and one MYSTERY CODE.
Mystery Code: VWYOJLX

a) Can you figure out what the code is supposed to say and what ticket you need to decode it?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
TORNADO and 2871989

b) There was a roller coaster by that name that had an unusual rumor about it. What was that rumor?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Acceptable answers: The Tornado was rumored to be haunted. Or, the Tornado was destroyed by a natural disaster, either a fire or an actual tornado. All rumors or truths about the TORNADO roller coaster.

c) What year was that coaster built?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1926 (not 1977, as the submission actually received first mistakenly included. 1977 was the year the coaster was destroyed.)

[Oh dear, Dio. I'm so sorry. Of course you will get a ticket from me if I happen to win the final on June 24th.]
