Are you starting your grid with 0 or 1? You should start it with 0 for it to come out correctly.

I started it at 0. I used Rogi's grid and still get the same results on Kender's program. The first three letters spell out a word fine and then it all goes to poop. I'm pretty sure these aren't words. They aren't supposed to be anagrams, right?

Shelina, keep your numbers. I think you'll just be entered into the next drawing. Well, I hope so. I missed my chance as well. 10 minutes isn't that long of a timeframe!

You have 6 "admit one" tickets. Only one of them makes a real word or appropriate word with initials (as mine did, imagine the first three letters of your word "NJP" and you can see the confusion that was going through my mind). Try the code with all six of your tickets. Alternatively, make sure you have the correct letters from the back of your ticket.

Shelina - are you sure about the time zones? Maybe when it is 5p in NY, it's only 11p in Spain? We have this stupid thing called Daylight Savings.
Check out Time and Date for their world clock to see if you (and any others playing outside the US Eastern time zone) can sync up.

I vote for continuing the community spirit of UF and CTW (rather than competative). I mean, the "prize" is really just virtual anyway. If I get a chance I would sure love anyone nudging me with clues and assistence.

Congrats to all of you who were eligible to compete this weekend.

I agree, although I thoroughly respect those who'd rather compete on their own. In deference to them, no spoilers in open forum, but if anyone is still struggling and thinks I might actually be of assistance, PM me.

Edit: Instructions have changed slightly. Now results will be posted "as soon as all submissions are verified" instead of "by Sunday, May 28th at 5:00PM eastern."

I am extremely bad at puzzles. I'll take whatever help I can get when the time comes.

Just checked my email junk folder and caught a missed message. My code letters were wrong! Everything works out just fine now. I just don't understand why this email was filed with the junk. The original one with my numbers came through just fine. I've even set it to watch and file stuff from the ARG's email addresses. Stupid technology.

On the other topic, if I magically manage to have my number picked again, I'd be grateful for help if need be. I'd also help in any possible way I could if someone asked. UF has always had a nice community thing going on and it would be a shame to destroy that. ARG's are great not just because of the puzzles and brainwork, but because of the fun in sharing it all with everyone else playing.

Think we'll be seeing the answers and winners soon? I hope everyone involved has had good juju going this weekend.

Competittion is just not in my nature, but I figured that I should at least try.
In the process; I had fun, learned alot, and reminisced. It was worth the journey.

Good luck to all!

Results are up.

Quote:
We received 5 submissions by the 5:30PM deadline for starting the Puzzle Game, which were verified and qualified on the basis of having submitted the correct decoded MYSTERY CODE word or phrase associated with the GIFT TICKET numbers drawn. Of those five qualifiers, one was unable to participate due to not having a sound card or speakers at the computer they were using, so four participants were qualified for the weekly Puzzle Game.

Quote:
While the final solutions were being evaluated, it was determined that one of the qualifiers had not submitted the correct ADMIT ONE ticket number that corresponded to the MYSTERY CODE as specified in the qualification process, and so they had to be disqualified. Unfortunately, that person was the only person who submitted the total and correct solution for the Puzzle Game, leaving us without a winner for this week. In light of this, and due to the problems with our system that incorrectly judged the qualifying submissions,we have decided to do the following.

ALL FOUR PLAYERS who qualified for the weekly Puzzle Round will be declared WINNERS for this week, and automatically qualified to take part in the GRAND FINALE Round on June 24, 2006. They will also ALL receive the consolation prize that the players who don't win the weekly prize normally are awarded. These four players will be notified by email of what they need to do next.

ADDITIONALLY, we're also announcing the weekly Second Chance Drawing, for anyone who meets the following qualifications. First, your number needs to be one of the eight drawn on Saturday, May 27th. Next, you cannot be one of the four players who actually took part in the Puzzle Game round. Third, you were unable to participate in the weekly Puzzle Game either due to technical difficulties (no sound card) or because you just couldn't be on line at the correct time. If you meet these requirements, you are eligible to take part in the weekly Second Chance drawing, and it will not affect your chance to participate in future weekly drawings.

To take part, send an email to our webmaster by 5:00PM Friday, June 2, 2006, with your GIFT TICKET number (remember, it must be one of the eight already drawn) and the MYSTERY CODE from the back. You do not have to decode the MYSTERY CODE for this part. We will randomly choose one of the submissions to receive a special consolation gift from Ash Grove Park.

Quote:
Qualifying GIFT TICKET numbers drawn for May 27th
Round One 375082 , 375090 , 375101 , 375075 , 375050 , 375068
Round Two 375088 , 375106 , 375169 , 375147 , 375125 , 375121

This was mine. Sweet - I get a "second chance"!!!!

Who are our four winners?

I got 8 out of 10 tunes kona - not so bad Smile

I did actually think that they had to be in by Sunday to be announced on the site, otherwise I would have spent a few more hours on it.

I see on chat that drizjr got them all, but was disqualified, very sad *cough* Shocked heh

I'm glad others apart from me went through the nightmare that was that puzzle, I was at it solid for maybe 6 hours listening to midi files etc..., then too late for my liking I found most of the blinkin' answers here:

http://music.msn.com/artist/?artist=16256444

After I found them I could work out some of the albums that had been used for the puzzle listing.
There were a few wurlitzer albums I went thru' as well tho'! lol

As it turns out, I could have gone to bed that night and still got into the final!! cheers drizjr! Wink Rolling Eyes Very Happy

yeah, that was me.
And, I couldn't be more pleased.
I have the satisfactions of advancing other players, a correct solve, and not having to compete. All on account of a hasty error.
It's all good in my book. Very Happy

edit to add: Many thanks to those that explained how to decode the tickets in the first place. I was lost without their help.

Just got a reply on confirmation of my "Mystery Code". It was different than the one on the ticket. All is good now. If you had a problem with yours, check those inboxes.

Yea, all I've ever recieved back from them is the standard email. I mailed them about my wrong code on the 5/27 and the drawing on the 6/1. Maybe they're backlogged? I figured I'd give them a little time.
