Fantasy World Cup Football and 'The world cup' thread I've set up an Unfiction league if any one is interested. There's also an autocomplete function if you don't know your Ronaldinho from your Reading.
http://fantasyfootball.metro.co.uk/
And it's free in case all you Northerners are a bit worried.
Code for the Unfiction league is 9690-5879
EDIT: Because I don't know how to spell Ronaldecksohionono

Thanks for this, I'm in - or will be after I spend a week formulating a plan!

I'm in, using my random team.
EDIT: There is a league forum on the site.

I chose a team based on an extraordinarily complicated formula - then removed the two players I'd heard of - on principle.

Haha
Again, if no one knows anything about football, there is an auto complete function so you don't really need to know....or even care.

My way is to get the big names and run out of cash, then get rid of a frw and replace them with pants USA players who go for next to nothing.

OK guys, it all kicks off tomorrow, 'The big man is back in town' and you have until 4.30 to make any last min changes. Teams can be added to the league after this time however you'll be at a disadvantage.
Quote:
All changes for Group Phase 1 need to be made by 16:30 BST - 09 Jun, 2006. You should pay particular attention to players with information after their names. They are not likely to play this Game Round and may be worth dropping to the substitutes bench or transferring.
People who haven't got a team:
Juxta
Duckie
Snowball
Tanner
Guin
Jeb
SotonRich
Spug
Craig
MJ
UK Vers2.0...not that I expect Americans to understand.
Many Others
It'll take two min and you need no knowledge to do it....or even an interest in the world cup.
And I'm going to see The Wedding Present tonight.

Does this refer to those who have a RED [i] after their names? All players have an [i], usually in blue - just checked rooney and he's red, and won't be playing the groups, so I guess I'm right?

So has Dave Gedge reformed the band? The Wedding Present is in my top 10 fav bands ever. Saw them in London, way back in 1991 as they were going through their Ukranian period. Enjoy the gig!

I have all blue [i]'s, so hopefully I'm all set. I transfered Rooney away a while ago.

11th best album of last year. And my favourite band ever.

I think so. However it tends to be for players who are just injured rather than unlikely to be picked....not that I'm going to do any detailed research on Tongo to find out the form of their left back.
However after each round I think you get a certain number of transfers, so even if Rooney is injured now you might be able to put him in your team at a later date.
