A castle is mentioned, but really just the general tone of the writing and what they do during the day cries medieval to me. Also I seem to remember that recedas revenge was set around the same sort of time and that had medieval flavour to it. Could be wrong but that is what comes to mind for me.

Well, he could be. We've already 'seen' him, and he seems pretty civilised... but he could be.

What's Violet's mother's name? *ninja*

I doubt Sanjean Adamek is V, based on Alejo's description and other reasons, but that's a topic for other threads.

[I always imagined that the mysterious Ms. Adamek (Scarlett and Violet always ignore my questions about her) might have been named Rose. Or Garnet. (what, no one else thinks Garnet Reed is Sente's clone/secret offspring?)]

No, if anything, I would think Sente's wife's name would be something like Orange or Ecru. Amber?

I always thought that Scarlett and Violet's names were just to signify that even though they are sisters they are quite disimilar.

You could say that they were opposite ends of the spectrum BOOM, BOOM!

Oh, oh, it burns. Sad

Just a thought, because someone (too lazy to check who) mentioned Violet and Scarlett wouldn't tell us about their mother -- maybe this is why? So she could be introduced as an evil murderess later on?

Is it me or does the cube being this uber-weapon (Nuke esque) seem out of place for a war, that from the descriptions in the diary, are more or less medieval in setting? I can't really imagine a war with swords and knights etc then someone dropping the equivilant of their nuke in the mix.
Doesnt quite seem right.

IMO, we don't imagine nukes and stuff in the same era as castles, knights and swords because we didn't have nukes in the same era as castles. Granted, the defences of a castle would be pretty useless against a nuke, but they may be ground level defences for an underground bunker... It's more than possible that the rather unique properties of the material that they were mining made it very easy to make a nuke-esque device without the physical understanding it took us - thus giving them what appears to be advanced science without actually having the scientific knowledge (and meaning it would be possible to develop that before the relatively simple gun). (And if we assume this weapon to be the Cube, they clearly don't have a clue how it works.)

(That and the fact that I think it's meant to be equivalent to our 1700s so it's a bit after medieval.)

I love pondering the logic of alternate timelines.

The next course of action should clearly be to break into Uncle Sanjean's house beacuse there is a slight possiblity that it may contain an historical clue. Given the number of other illegal activities we've been involved with over their on the basis of very tenuous leads, this should be one of the more obvious ones. If 3P/secret agency of your choice are going to come after Kurt and Violet, we need to preempt them, get some kind of information to use against them.

Perhaps legal avenues should be pursued first, like looking up records for the house and suchlike? If the house holds any secrets, chances are they're more likely to be discovered that way than stumbling around Scooby-Doo-like, I reckon...

And your dog, too!

Oh, and tintintin? Never speak of "that" character. "It" should have been a rare guest appearance, not destroying the series (and getting "it's" own serieses Evil or Very Mad )!
