[SPEC][TV spoilers] could XXXXXXX be Alvar Hanso? Edited to add spoiler tag, also had to remove a name from the title - colin
late season 2:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Just a theory...but he did go missing about 3 years ago, right?
Maybe Peter Thompson, et al marooned him on the island.
Let me know what you think.

In before people start to say the two aren't related!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Gale is too young looking to be Hanso. Hanso was around during the second World War (so says his bio) That would put him in the 70's at the youngest estimates.
If anything, he looks more like Mittelwerk IMHO. But thats speculation
Edit: added in spoiler tags just in case

It's not him. Not possible. And another reason is...
spoiler I believe let off by the writers, or just supported theory
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Henry Gale" is actually Penelope Widmore's brother and a rightful heir to the Widmore company.

plus its just an actor. It is not the real person but a representation of what could be like.

What is happening on the tv show is fiction. Hanso Foundation is "real" (well, at least according to Huge during his interview on Jimmy Kimmel). It seems the producers want the audience to keep them separate.

So as I see it, we shouldn't be making references between the show and the "real world." I guess the next question would be where do we go from here? What are we looking for?

Well, no...it seems the Hanso Foundation wants to keep them separate. I see no reason to believe anything Hugh said, and plenty of reason to believe the opposite. If Lost is really exposing truths about Hanso, of course they're going to write it off as fiction.

I hate to sound stupid as someone still new here but Marvin Candle surfaced as a person in the Orientation video on TV and is discussd in the ARG quite a bit. The book "Bad Twin" was on the show, in the ARG and on my kitchen counter. Based on that how can we say that we aren't making references to the show in here? Where do we draw the line?
Maybe they've got us right where they want us, confused. I just don't think that I would stop considering information from any reliable source, Hugh, not being a reliable source.
Clarification please?

Clarification 1: I'm not certain that Marvin Candle has appeared in the ARG at all -- discussion among players doesn't make it in-game. (edit to add: I haven't seen every hidden image in every video, but I am fairly certain that the ARG storyline has not specifically introduced him by name. Also, Candle is not exactly a Lost-away.) In fact, NONE of the characters currently living on the TV show island have been brought in-game yet, not as characters in the ARG storyline.
Clarification 2: This doesn't mean that the history of the island itself won't be in-game. In fact, I believe part of the plot of the ARG is to help us learn more of the backstory which the TV show cannot take the time to show us, the history of the people who set up the island, and the people who are NOT ON the island but might know more about it.
Therefore, we're better off leaving the TV show storyline run its own course, and concentrate on the information to be found elsewhere.
(my own opinion)
