[Update] Aglaura News June 20-21 - Council Mtg, AGP Death
Quote:
City Council Meeting Postponed
The regularly-scheduled Aglaura City Council meeting has been postponed from its normal time to Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 7:30 PM. The power surge on Monday has disrupted the local government network and extra time is needed to recover the files and notes from the computer system.
At the request of at least one City Council member, Mayor Dobbs is reviewing a seldom-used bylaw of the town charter which allows "non-resident interested parties" to participate in the conference. If you have an interest in the upcoming meeting and would like to take part, please keep an eye on the Aglaura home page for details to appear soon.

Which time zone are they in? I need to work out the time in the UK (I'd have finished all my exams then, I'll do an all-nighter if necessary)

[Spec] It'd be one of six people. JD (obvious choice), Keith (might be why he needed help and something happened), Dale (Let's hope not, but face it, it's a possibility, even if slim), Bruce (same thing as Dale, maybe slightly greater chance), Digitalis (very slim chance, but could be what he was talking about...) or some unknown nutjob.
[More spec] I'm thinking in any case, whoever it was was trying to get the Wish to appear. With horrific consequences (for now?)

I would say JD is the most likely choise at this point. He was the one having the greatest difficult with the memory/fantasy issues, and he was a patient at Klepsydra (Kona, he may have been allowed to take a day trip with Phyllis to go to the fair, even if he was still an inpatient? Or perhaps if they thought he could handle it an overnight visit at home.)
Keith: A nurse at a hospital, if he had known mental issues (other than the minor madness infecting the town) he wouldn't have been allowed to work with patients, and we would have seen some clue that said he was a bit out of it. Tracking the 3-o-7 symbol is not a mental illness (yet).
Dale: not likely at this point in the story as he is the fulcrum around which the story is spinning.
Bruce: suffers from alcoholism, while it is an illness, I doubt if it would be called an "unusual mental illness."
Anyone else we have not been introduced to nor shown anything relating to mental instability.
IIRC: shortly before JD died in CTW1, he confessed he had backed the wrong side and wanted to make amends for it by helping Dale. Could be the stress from the events in that other reality/history were a bit too much for JD to handle...

[Update] Aglaura News June 21 - Stores & Postponed Mtg
Quote:
June 21, 2006:
Aglaura Stores Opening, Reopening
The Unnatural Emporium is preparing to open soon. The store, which takes over the space formerly occupied by the late Wes Keeler's Emporium of the Weird, will be run by newly-transplanted Aglaura resident Iris Page. The store can be found online at EdgeofSight.com.
In other merchant news, Phyllis Willingham has formally reopened her antique store, The Hollow Needle. As previously reported, the store has been closed for the past four months for personal reasons.
City Council Meeting Postponed
A power spike disrupted Aglaura services on Monday and caused the postponement of the Aglaura City Council meeting, originally scheduled for Tuesday. The meeting will be held on Thursday, June 22 at 7:30 PM. Aglaura bylaws allow for input from interested outsiders. If you would like to make a statement regarding the fate of the Aglaura Public Library, you will be able to call in on Thursday evening to address the City Council. Please have a statement ready when you call in. You will have up to five minutes to speak. The exact time and phone number will be posted Thursday morning.
Police Investigation in the Woods
An ongoing police investigation has citizens concerned. Aglaura police have been in the woods outside of the town park at the south edge of town. Some citizens speculate that the investigation might be connected to reports of missing persons over the last few days, but Chief Prufrock has refused to comment.
Nahs.
