[SPEC] Liddy Wales (possible season 2 spoiler)

from what ive read which isnt proven yet and this might possibly be a major spoiler for the finale, i guess we'll find out wednesday, Libby's last name might actually be

I'd like to point out that the above appears to be a real spoiler for everyone. Spoiler for the finale, like he said, I should just read...
I was a bit careless and read it, that's none of your fault, Hank.

Yes, I thought it was strange that nobody mentions Libby's last name. I didn't just think it was strange, I thought it was stupid. Like, they don't want us to know and it makes no sense that they would never bring it up, especially in that situation when someone asks for Ana-Lucia's last name.
But it looked like Jack was thinking which name was asked for, like, "hey, I don't have any idea, either...oh, that one! yeah, I know her name. *phew*".

I find it silly when people think Liddy = Libby Wales because of the similar first name. It's a reach.

i also read a certain spoiler, albiet a really weak spoiler, but it also had said that

It would also help to have a little context as to how this "spoiler" originated. That is, was this just someone's weak attempt at a guess, or is this concrete, known information?

I thought I explained my thought process in the first post.

This is pure SPEC, with very circumstantial evidence supporting it.

But I believe its interesting how:

1. Libby on the show's last name is totally unknown.
2. Liddy's picture is missing on the Hanso website.
3. We know very little about Libby's past.

So the name similarity might just be pure coincedence, but wouldn't it be interesting if they're the same person?

It seems to me that so far we have had no real connection to the charictors on the show and in our in game point of view there is no island untill they tell us there is

One more thing, I think the similarity between the names is making people think Liddy is female, but seeing as how I've never met a Liddy, it could be a man. I could be wrong though. It would make sense for Liddy to be a man, Hanso seems like a male dominated corporation and there are no other females on the board. If Liddy is male it would throw out a lot of theories that are running around right now.

Liddy is a female name. Which doesn't mean it could not be male, too. But I have so far ony found women named Liddy (imdB for example).
I believe Liddy is derived from Elizabeth (like Libby probably is, as well).

Still, I think that the theory "Liddy is Libby who is being hidden" is rather... not-so-good. If we immediately look at the names and point out that "Liddy" is "Libby" with consonants reversed, it's not a very good cover.

Liddy being short or pet form of Lidia seems more likely to me. But that's just me.
