Damn, if he would only answer his email, we might be able to talk him into digging deeper into the Marzent computer systems.......if we can trust him.

Looks like that's what he's going to do with his network time. Smile Hope he finds something and then starts answering his mail. I have no idea if he's getting his mail.

Email

Actually, as of yesterday (July 13), he did answer his email. I finally got a reply from Bruce about an email I sent May 31. Where should I post it?

You may already have found the place - if not - there's a section for interaction with the characters where we all post our emails.

[Update] July 19

Ashes and Ruin

Since my last post Aglaura life has taken a turn toward the gothic. The library and Ash Grove Park were both razed. Can you believe it? Even stranger, the town is focusing on Dale as a primary suspect. He posted some vague, suspicious and, I won't hesitate to say, alarming things in his journal.

Still, it doesn't make any sense—he completely supported Sarah and his daughter loves the library. Why on Earth would he do that? His behavior has been odd—I won't deny it, but I don't think he's completely lost his scruples. Not to the point where he'd commit arson.

Jesus, I'm so miserable in New Jersey. I can't believe I left New York, or California for that matter. What's the point of sobriety and making responsible decisions if all life throws in one's path is heartache and destruction? The anonymity and excess of The City at least shielded me from these every day blasts of bathos. Today, I found myself scouring craigslist for apartments in my old neighborhood in New York.

But I can't walk away. I've made my choice.

Haven't I?

I also can't decide if I should reach out to Dale. Diana has been especially reticent on the topic, but I can't help but think she feels vindicated. Am I projecting? Could I really be living with a woman capable of such wanton hate?

Could I?

Work is business as usual, without people talking much at all about the fires. Still, Don Marzano hasn't gotten back to me, and I really want to know more about him…and this place. It's tricky, though. Even when I think about digging deep I get nervous…twitchy…like I'm being watched. I wish my sponsor would let me take a Xanax.

What's a "Pines Party"?
Whatever it is, it's in or around FIRE ISLAND

Not a rave - usually.... infact, the only time i've heard "Pines Party" term used was a camping bonfire event. only drugs there are ciggs, drinks, and the occasional illegal smokes. however, fire island is no where NEAR the pine barrens - isn't fire island in new york not new jersey? or if it is new jersey, it is far north and might as well be new york?

Forgive me, i missed where this was referenced in game?

[EDIT] WOW, okay, THE Pines Party on fire island is a Gay charity event {club like, not rave as it is not only with a permit but quite legal}
According to http://www.pinesparty.com/:
Quote:
This years' theme will raise the bar of anticipation, and thrill over 3,000 guests. It will blow! the roof off with new levels of artistry, attaining new heights with super-natural breathtaking visual displays. Heroes & Villains will deliver Action and Adventure, until daybreak, while keeping a sense of community that separates Pines Party 2006 from other dance benefits and Circuit Parties. (Rated G for Gay and VGF for Very Gay Friendly!).....Guests, dressed as their favorite characters from the universe of Heroes, Villains and action adventure characters suddenly appear......Event proceeds are split evenly between the Stonewall Community Foundation and the FIPPOA Charitable Foundation.

still not sure what this has to do with the game?[/EDIT]

My bad, pixie.

When Bruce said in his blog that he'd spent time looking for an igloo in Manhattan, I went to craigslist and looked up "Bruce" "Pine Barrens", etc. in the housing wanted area. That link was one that came up. I'm sure it wasn't Bruce's doing.

There is nothign illegal about raves there are plenty in fact the majority of people who go don't get high. I have been to a lot of raves and we discourage using drugs and in fact we tell people if they can't enjoy the music and dancing for what it is they have no business being there. We have raves on the beach in Atlantic City all the time that are legal and with a permit and all that so I don't know what you are talking about. Please don't beleive everything you read in the newspaper or see on TV they only show the bad side of things. But anyway the reason I said I thought it was a rave was because the music from another site was playing in the background and I thought it was coming from the "pines party" site so that was a mistake on my part. However I still fail to see what you mean there are dozens of clubs in philly that host "raves" all week and they are not illegal in fact they arrest anyone who brings or sells drugs.

okay guys, that craigslist thing is NOT in game. We can end that spec for now.

Bruce didn't mention posting anything on Craigs, just he was "looking" for an apartment.

[UPDATE] July 22 - Bruce obsessed with Marzent

Chasing Wild Geese

Frustrated. That's what I am (and not just because of A-ROD's recent production...Who makes 20 million a year and suffers from performance anxiety?). Frustrated is also what Diana is with me.

I'm spending too much time at the office, she says, obsessing over my position in the company following the vote, she says.

In actuality, I was over that vote the day after those results hit. But she's right. I'm twitchy, I'm not sleeping. Nightmares are keeping me up. That old one with the ancient church. Remember it? I've posted about it before, I think.

I've made it my mission to discover what Marzent is all about, who Marzano is...behind the company man handshakes, the memos and the position statements for the press. It's not that I think anything is askew, necessarily. And I certainly don't have any proof. It's just that, I can't see the big picture if I don't know the men or man behind it. I want to look this guy in the eye. He does, after all, sign my checks.

I can't pretend there's not an addictive quality to the way I'm searching the network, digging through files. I haven't found anything of note, but I can't stop reading, scanning...devouring. It scares me. I'm looking for ways and times to sneak network access the way I used to look for times to drink or compulsively spend money. I'm not a conspicuous consumer now...I'm a conspicuous detective. Does that qualify as a pun? I'm not entirely sure.

Let Diana complain. I need time. I need something to bury my head in. I'm a fucking ostrich. Maybe it is an addiction, but, it's better than my last one. Meaghan's still Princess Mopey, behaving like Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice and I can't take it. Jesus Christ, A-ROD has struck out 4 times today. Stranded 6. When a hero doesn't look like a hero, it's too bad you can't turn the camera away. Because watching that shit, the heroes failure...it fucks up everything.

Just for easy access, here's the 3/20/05 entry about the dream
Quote:

Nightmare

I had the most horrifying nightmare last evening.

I was in a church ~ an old church. Think Dark Ages or something out of LOTR. This will give you a pretty good idea ~ but it was darker...and had a roof.

Anyhow, I was kneeling on a pew, my head down, and my eyes closed. I heard wicked, grotesque muttering all around me and felt the cold presence of many moving bodies.

My eyes remained closed, but in my mind's eye (in the dream) I could see a legion of cloaked druids carrying decaying, decrepit corpses into the church past me.

I was surrounded in my pew...I prayed while these druids and corpses surrounded me a thick, violet liquid ran down the walls.

Did I mention this was scary?

Then, out of nowhere, I heard my name...BRUCE! BRUCE, COME HERE!

It was my friend...Diana's ex. Dale. I opened my eyes and he lead me to safety.

Still, pretty scary.

There's also a brief mention of the dream on his 11/18/05 entry.

Hmmm, maybe someone send him the links for "Sons of Don" construction or that restaurant... what was it called?

also, there was a preacher in the list of contacts that Sarah gave us, maybe he has something of note to say?

At least it seems like we may have an ally and possible insider in Bruce pretty soon. Has he answered anyone's emails yet? Someone's got to be able to befriend the guy, even if he's a Yankees fan.
