[EMAIL] June 5 From Sam Greene

I asked Sam if she had photos or desriptions of the masks she could post on the website.

Quote:
You can just call me Sam, btw. No need for official salutations with
me. Smile I've been keeping an eye on ebay and some of the other
auctions sites myself. I haven't told Sarah yet though. She doesn't
know much about the internet and I really didn't want to bring up the
possibility that someone could sell the masks to some guy in Japan
along side a bunch of worthless tchotchke. I don't have photos of the
masks, but I can try to give you some descriptions. They're made out
of some sort of clay or maybe something similar. I know a few of them
had stuff coming out of their eyes and one of them had a tongue. I
know one of them had some wires on it. Actually, it might be better
to just ask Sarah for some descriptions. Smile

Dear Ms. Greene,

I just read the news that you posted to the Aglaura website this
evening. I feel so bad for Ms. Wyatt and would really like to help.
Is there any way you can post pictures of the masks, if available?
Or perhaps descriptions?
I do a lot of shopping on web auction sites, like eBay. Armed with
descriptions and/or pictures, I can keep an eye out.

Thanks,

Roxanne

Received a reply today (June 7) from Sam, from an email I sent June 1.

Sylvia,

Thanks, we're still filling in a few spots on the site - hopefully
everything will be done soon. Smile Dale definitely has a full plate
these days with Synthasia, his comic book, this crazy mess
surrounding the library, and his family, which, by the way, I'd
prefer you ask him the details about. Since he's somewhat in the
public eye these days, I don't feel comfortable sharing
personal information about him like that.

I'm sure you've heard all about the library fiasco if you're here in
town, since that's all everyone seems to talk about it. I was over at
the diner the other night all prepared to chow down on some fried
chicken when two guys started yelling back and forth about it. I just
changed my order "to go" and slipped out the back door. Loud conflict
is definitely not my thing these days.

Ms. Greene,

Greetings. My name is Andrew Gastaldo. First of all, I'd like to say what a fine job you and your friend Dale have done with Aglaura's webpage. Its really some nice work, especially compared to some of the small town webpages I've seen when I was traveling the country with Americorps.

Anyway, onto the reason for this e-mail. I have recently found myself drawn into this conflict over the library and the plans for its demolition. Personally, I find the destruction of such a historical landmark and community center to be a horrific notion. Its frankly abhorrent to my tastes and I know others who feel the same way. We'd like to have the opportunity to help argue our case and offer our own unique points of view to the city council members and even the mayor. I was wondering there were any e-mail, or even regular mail, contact information you could post on the website to reach them through. I know that in many community governments the mayor has an official e-mail address - a snail mail one too - through which he can receive such correspondence. Does Mayor Dobbs have such contact information? What about other members of the City Council?

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
J. Andrew Gastaldo

So she got back to me - heh.. guess I was just impatient!

J.,

You can reach Pat Dobbs through his email address -
pdobbsSPLATaglauranj.org. You can also forward your concerns about the
library demolition to either Dale Sprague at daleSPLATsynthasia.com or Sarah
Wyatt, the head librarian, at librarySPLATaglauranj.org. I'm sure they'd be
happy to see more people supporting the cause. Smile

[EDIT]the email addy for the mayor was sent to you wrong, it is "aglauranj.org" not "aglaura.nj.org" - just saying in case anyone does what i did and copy/paste without paying attention....[/EDIT]

I heard back from Sam. I asked her how Wes died. I expressed my worry about Dale because he seems very stressed in his journal and he hadn't at that time replied to my 2 week old email. And I asked if she knew why Dale put a patch on her throat in the comic Smile This is her reply:

Sam wrote:
Lynn,

Yes, Dale, Wes and I have known each other for quite some time. Or had
known each other, I guess. I don't really like to talk about what
happened to Wes though. Since you worked with Wes, you surely know what
a unique and wonderful person he was and what a great loss we suffered
when he passed away.

As for Dale's email, are you sending your mail to daleSPLATsynthasia.com?
It isn't like Dale to let his emails go, but I'll ask him when I see him.

I wish I knew why comic supergirl Sam has a throat patch. I figure it's
going to tie into my super power later on in the story. Maybe the big
reveal will be me taking off my patch to reveal a portal into another
dimension. Or maybe it's a burning death flame I keep at bay with a
thin piece of gauze. Wink I've tried to get an answer out of Dale, but
he's decided it's more fun to torment me.
