tangent

also a quick thought, as for the file names, the hole3 has t9agen75 which, if you reuse the letters n and t can spell tangent, and since people have found interesting ties to tangent equations or whatnot (not sure what's going on there), it may be related.. has anyone come up with anagrams for the names together yet?

The word "tangent" rings a bell as far as it relates to the decimal numbers that surround the compass at the LYCBYG site. Interestingly, the use of letters mixed with numbers seems a bit like the word/code that looks like "different" on that compass.

Can't get the image to come up on hole3...so thanks amlocke for posting it.

Can we combine this with the hole2 image? It looks at first glance like the t9agen75.gif image is the q9als2002.gif from hole2, with another "layer" of info added. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

I'm only quoting you since you mentioned the filename. Interestingly, when I save the picture there's more to the filename. The saved document reads...

t_t9agen75_130.gif

Just something to consider for anyone looking for clues within the filename itself.

Feel free to trout me but i dont remember reading anything about this.
I was wondering how there is a hole2 and hole 3 so i decided to try hole1 and it just took me to the regular hanso page. I remember reading somewhere about a possible backdoor into hanso and was wondering if this might be it. Im going to play around with some stuff on the site and see if anything is different.

EDIT:
http://hole1.thehansofoundation.org/

EDIT2:
Disregard, typing anything that doesnt have a unique page just defaults to the hanso page.

That's just how the forums save the file. It will add characters to the filename regardless of it's original filename. This is the way it's saved on the website "http://hole3.thehansofoundation.org/t9agen75.gif". Sorry, just didn't want you to go on a wild chase for nothing.

Namaste.

That's written on all Dharma products popping up in the show, it's not a code.

Back on topic of the pic:
Why is it no longer there?
Could that be a hint telling us that the pictures are not important and the key lies within the file names?

http://persephone.thehansofoundation.org has been updated with '+1' - so add one to hole2 and you get...

I don't know if this is significant, but if you look at the HTML for this page there are a whole bunch of blank lines between the + and the 1. The + is on the first line, the 1 is on line 84.

I don't understand one thing about this and that's why the space does not seem to be ordinary blank space. If you view the source code, click to make the blinking text cursor appear and move it past the '+' it jumps right to the '1'. As opposed to jumping to the home position of all the lines in-between.
I'd say this is strange, but I've seen it in other places. Although I thought there it happened because the page was designed with a web editor which formats the blank page.
But here it's just ordinary text...not sure about this, could someone who knows more about web design give a simple reason for it?

@ziot
I was just about to post what you just said! Wink
Not that it means anything, though.

The space is because of the blank space between the + and 1. The way html is parsed it only includes one space no matter how much spaces are between two objects. So if there was one line or two thousand lines, it would still just be one space.

I made an example page here: http://whataboutpp.com/lost/upload/example.html

definitely weird why they put 84 lines for something simple like that though.

Something I noticed:

There are favicons for hole2/persephone but not for hole3 or hansofoundation.

For what it's worth,

a=1
b=2
c=3
d=4
e=5
f=6
g=7
h=8
i=9
... and so on

then t9agen75 = tiagenge which possibly means giant egg

Persephone says '+1'....

Then map JUST the letters in 't9agen75' to phone keys:

1 = n/a 2 = ABC 3 = DEF

4 = GHI 5 = JKL 6 = MNO

7 = PQRS 8 = TUV 9 = WXYZ

0 = Oper

RESULT: 8 9 2 4 3 6 7 5 (t 9 a g e n 7 5)

Interesting that all of the numbers are used and they don't repeat.

Uhm...yeah, I know that. I was asking something else, but...

...I think you answered it with that one. Seems like you can built simple pages yourself which don't show the blinking cursor within spaces. That's what I was all about. I'm still wondering why some the source codes I've viewed allow the text cursor in spaces and some do not. I thought it had something to do with manual carriage return vs. web editor, but probably not? Confused me even more, to be honest...

Reason I asked besides just wanting to know:
There could have been whitespace encoding in there, but as far as I know you would be able to highlight the characters if there was. And your example makes it clear that this is nothing unusual, although I still can't figure out why the cursor is there sometimes, but not all the time.

Interesting that all of the numbers are used and they don't repeat.

For that reason alone, I would advise against anyone trying to make a textonym using the numbers above, simply because you'll be dealing with 40,320 different possible orders.

Over at the TLEclues blog, we think t9agen75 is a sort of garbled up version of "tangents," possibly incorporating leet-speak.

Ok I have been palying around with this combo for a little while and came to this if you take t9 as T9 on a cell phone and use agen as agen, and take the letters form the phone for 7 and 5 you get P,Q,R,S and J,K,L respectivly. This allows you to spell a lot of word but the best I have found is
