I have noticed that I just need a website, or a "clue" to get me started, but when I look at the spoiler text it clearly states the answer, and then, well...whats the point in researching the answer when I can't get it out of my head?
I ditto this. I came here to get a general hint on a lower-level card (#170 Purple - Vexillogy) and the very first post in the thread had the answer. It was under a spoiler warning, but still... I hadn't expected the answer to be in the first post!

As I did in the blacks thread, thought I'd post what I know of wave 4 silvers.
253: Sightseeing
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The numbers outside of brackets are lego piece references, and the numbers inside are 3-dimensional co-ordinates. Get building!
254: Escape
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Sneak through the guards Metal Gear Solid style. Remember, the quickest way may not be the most obvious, and you may have to wait around corners for guards to walk past.
A (rather dumb) flash version of the game can be found here .

Brilliant Lex, thank you. I'll add them to the main post.
Can anyone else who can help with other silvers as they're solved either PM me or post here?
Much obliged

#250 Manoeuvres
How about
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Chess Openings have names.
Too vague?

Suitably vague When I get home from work I'll combine it with one I received by PM for the same card and post it with appropriate credits. Ta muchly!
Edit: what the hell - I've done it now, along with two from domroberts. Nearly got caught by the boss though, so that's it until this evening.

Einstien astronomically got it totally wrong when he said- "God does not play sudoku with jupiters moons". A name must be given to those that are seemingly random in the common pattern.

Ta very much - but I updated that one last night after a PM. I should have posted to say so - my bad
We now have something for each one of the silvers - many thanks to everyone who had any sort of input into this!

I must say - both of these hints seem a bit too... blunt to me. Taking the first half of Cinana's and the second half of fretty's seems like it'd get the hint across, without directly telling people exactly what to look for.

If you look at the other silvers here (which I appreciate you might not want to do, if you're still working on them) you'll see some are blunter still. That goes back to the original thinking behind starting this thread:
Quote:
So what I thought I'd do is compile a list of the ground rules for each silver. They're not solves - they're not even hints, mostly. What they are is a definition of the problem that needs to be solved, so players who've just got the card can make an informed decision whether or not to sink some time into working it out themselves.
They're not meant to be mysterious riddles that tease the brain - that's what the cards are for (and Von's hints). They're meant to be matter-of-fact "here's how it works, now d'you wanna have a go at it yourself?" things for people who want to get straight to the point, either because they have limited time or have spent too long banging their heads against a wall.
I'm sorry if you feel the tone isn't right on them

Nah, it's not that I don't feel that the tone isn't right on them at all - I greatly appreciate these hints, and didn't mean to offend.

von's hints Hi,
I applaud your efforts producing this page. It's exactly what I was hoping to find. Thank you!
One question - would anyone be willing to add von's hints for each card as a hidden spoiler as well?
Cheers,
Mark

Second the motion! And not just for silvers. It would be lovely to have Von's hints for blues, purples and blacks, if not for all the cards. If I need a little help I like to start with Von's hint. It's disappointing when I look through the posts for it and accidentally stumble on the answer.
Has anybody thought about setting up a 'Purples for Dummies'?

Haven't solved any season two silvers yet - still working my way up to them. But if anyone wants to start PMing me hints I'll start compiling them...
