I'm quite pleased really, a constant release of new cards would make them more difficult to collect-which is enjoyable.

The information from the hidden site at the end of the trail:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Congratulations

You've made it through our little warm-up challenge. There are bigger and deeper mysteries waiting for you in Perplex City, but it seems you're prepared for them - or at least as ready as you'll ever be. To get you started on your way, below is an article about the Cube reprinted from the City Historical Record.

Welcome to the hunt, and good luck.

"Thousands of Earth inhabitants have agreed to join the search for the missing Receda Cube, though the Cube itself remains mysterious to Earth-dwellers. While some of this mystery has been intentional, in part to prevent Mind Candy from being duped by a counterfeit, the Academy has recently come to the conclusion that much of this secrecy has been overzealous. Here, then, are some facts about the Receda Cube, its physical appearance, and the reasons for its significance to Perplexian society.

Perhaps most pertinent are the physical characteristics of the Cube. After all, how can one find something if one does not know what to look for? The Cube is most definitely a metallic cube measuring 10cm on a side. No conclusive weight has been recorded, as weight measurements of the Cube have been known to fluctuate over time. Some of its faces are inscribed with markings that appear to be man-made in nature, although they were documented from the moment the Cube was discovered in 7 AC. The significance of these markings has been the subject of scholarly and religious debate for centuries.

Many observers have reported a sense of tranquility overcome them when they are in the presence of the Cube, but researchers are undecided on whether this is an objective phenomenon or a cultural one, perhaps inspired by Perplexian Cube-focused spirituality.

Many Earth inhabitants find themselves perplexed as to why the Receda Cube, an apparently useless museum piece, holds such value for the people of Perplex City. The reasons for this are both cultural and historic. First, the Cube was discovered following a period of turmoil and trauma for Perplex City; however, the discovery of the Cube coincided with the onset of a peaceful era for the entire region which has continued through to today. The city, then, has come to consider the Cube a talisman of this lasting peace, and superstition holds that loss of the Cube will result in new peril and conflict for its people.

Reverence for the Cube is also caused in some part by Cube-focused religions, some of which go back many thousands of years. These faiths focus on the works of mankind and co-operative efforts to build a better world; a fundamental tenet is that cubes are works of man, and never to be found in nature. The shape of a cube is representative of the struggle for civilisation to improve itself and provide for its people. The Receda Cube, then, with its undeniably unusual physical properties, holds a special significance for the religious faithful in Perplex City, as a manifestation of the aspirations of mankind.

The Academy remains uncertain what information to reveal regarding the Cube, and in what quantity. Still, we hope that this simple information will arm the erstwhile Cube-seeker with the knowledge to recognise the target, and a new sense of understanding as to the gravity of this task for our people."

Not sure how much of that was useful.

You have a few options to get cards, two which are easy. One is to call the place I got my cards first, Diversions. Diversions is really good. They have lots of PXC stuff and will order something if you want it. It'll be a little more expensive since you'll have to pay for shipping but they're really good. If you give them a call and give them your address and a credit card number they'll send it out.

The second is eBay. There are some excellent deals on eBay. I got all 3 waves of red-purple plus 4 blacks and a silver for 39.99GBP (~$75USD). It included shipping.

Thanks, I've been getting mine through Jaffa's world for the harder ones and they're just about tapped out.

I was just wondering . . . did anyone else notice that the Diversions website also has links to Brian's PXC Card Catalog?

I think they need to get their east and west straight at Mind Candy. I checked the map detailing where Rhino has stores, and they're all in the southEASTERN US. The only "western" states with stores are Colorado and Utah. And maybe Texas, if you don't count them as their own little country.

Oh man, I am so miffed about the Rhino thing. There used to be one here in the town I work in, but they closed down recently. Now the closest one is over an hour's drive away. It's still officially the closest place I can buy cards from, though! Very Happy

(Yeah, they need to get their east and west straightened out!! Smile )

I get all excited when I see that this Rhino place has stores in Colorado, but then I see on their website that all of them have closed down. What gives? The same goes for Utah and Texas stores. So much for Perplex City coming to the southwest. The only places with stores open would appear to be the southeast. H4T wins again.

From Rhino's FAQ:
Quote:

ARE YOU REALLY ONE OF AMERICA'S FASTEST GROWING GAME RETAILERS?
Yes! Rhino has nearly doubled its number of store locations the past four years straight. In the process we have also nearly doubled our annual revenue each of the past 4 years

Pfft.
