The Aglaura Public Library has some interesting stuff, including a list of books from the Book Club (was there a puzzle that involved the previous list of books in CTW1?) and a place to apply for a library card . Just for kicks, I requested a card.

But hope they email your card instead of snail mail (unless you have a PO Box in Pemberton Township).
This was something being kicked around... if they do require a mailing address in pemberton, i live in burlington county not far from pemberton - if i am allowed legally, i will get a PO box in pemberton {not uncommin in pine barrens to have a PO box for a mailing address since not all places are mailperson accessable...} and maybe just maybe it will work. we will see.
as for that snowstorm, it didn't get drastic enough here to close the roads, in reality... It was actually less than a foot. I remember being so jealous of Philly, because they got enough snow to close the roads and the stores, and i had to go to work at kohls. bah! But yeah, it was a snow storm.

one of the things I received from the first CTW was a library card, I'll have to see if I can find it somewhere and post a pic. I think there's one in the archives, I'll attach it here if I can find it.
here's a link to the pic in the archives

[Website] Library There seems to be some additional stuff going on with the library. Guess it's time for it's own thread of discussion.
Quote:
May 2006 : The phenomenal Artists of Aglaura exhibit ended last week. We were so lucky not only to have so many talented people in town, but that they were willing to share the fruits of their artistic endeavors with us! We had everything from my new book, Sixth of Never (and its associated masks), to a beautiful watercolor that Agatha Dobbs painted back in the 1950s.
A belated thank you to one and all both for exhibiting your lovely work and for coming to see the display. My personal apologies for not posting this sooner - we've been so busy trying to put all the displays away and get everything moved back to its normal place that I have been lax in expressing my appreciation.
Although we may be in an uproar, our normal library events have been happening as scheduled (and another hearty thank you to the Pine Barren Poets this month for putting up with the confusion!).
I am sure everyone can agree that events like the Artists of Aglaura exhibit serve as a strong reminder of the essential place that the Library holds in our town's past, present, and future.

Hm, is there anything we can do to help Sarah?

Finally, I would like to bring up a subject I'm very passionate about, and I hope you will be too. Are you aware that plans are in the works to demolish the library? The Borough Council has set into motion a redevelopment plan which includes tearing down this library, including the historic 1927 section, and completely digitizing all the library's holdings. The library would then become nothing more than computers in a park. This means there will be no more books, paper treasures which we hold and smell and feel and surreptitiously peek on the last page to find out whodunit. This means we will no longer be able to read today's paper in a building containing the presences of everyone else who has read the paper there in the last 80 years. Our place for fun, knowledge, and companionship will be so much rubble under the parking lot of tomorrow's "Sprawl Mart".
My dear friends, every time I think about it I cry. The loss of the building's history. The loss of interaction with others who are seated next to you, pausing their page turning long enough to tell you about the wonderful printed journey they have just embarked upon. The loss of tactile sensation from the old, slightly powdery feeling pages slipping between your fingers; the dry, good old-book smell winding its way to your nose as you ruffle the pages. This is not progress, it's regression into the dark ages! Please join me in fighting this drastic and ultimately disastrous project.
I fear it might already be too late, as the Borough Council has approved the plan, but any chance at all is worth grasping. There is a group of local citizens who have been leading a campaign to save the Aglaura Public Library, with my full blessing. In a few weeks there will be a Council meeting with a final vote. We need to get our ducks in a row before our fate is decided for us. The bottom line is that we need help. If you have time or resources to devote to the cause, please e-mail me (librarySPLAT aglauranj.org) as soon as humanly possible. The Library's very future hangs in the balance.

AhA!!! This could be our mission.
This is a little bit SPEC and a little META, but definitely relates to the Library so bear with my logic:
As I was discussing with Max in chat last night - some old websites that we have noticed could not have been found by new folks just reading the comic. Which sites are directly as a result of the comic:
Start with AglauraNJ and Dale's Journal. From there we have the newspaper article leading to Marzent. We have the businesses like Dale's Synthasia, the Library, Del's, Hollow Needle, and we have Klepsydra. We also have Ashgrove Park. Finding Three-o-Seven would be sketchy - while there was the symbol hidden in one page of the comic, it wasn't noticed as graffitti the way it was in CTW1. And Mythosphere wasn't mentioned anywhere we can think of (unless it's the answer to Automatic Writing). So right now my SPEC is that Mythosphere is just the PM having a little fun with the veterans.
Back to CTW2 META: This is a different reality than CTW1. We have some same characters (but in different roles) and we have some "new" folks (who were dead in the other reality). It makes sense that the story is different. And therefore it makes sense that our mission would be different. Although it seems that the Marzanos are still the bad guys.
Dale is against the destruction of the old Library. Sarah is trying to save the Library. What can WE do to save the Library?

Maybe we could pose as an environmentalist group who has found swamp pink (Helonias bullata) growing in the immediate area that absolutely must be left undisturbed. The real Cranberry farm came under fire for diverting water and killing 50 plants.
EDIT: That's not the only cranberry farm in the area.

Yes, the pine barrens are famous for the cranberry bogs {i don't think ever in my life i have heard anyone say "cranberry farms" - maybe it is a local vs non-local terminology thing, but it made me giggle} as well as blueberry bushes.
How about we start an "online petition" to save the library?
See, I have my own website, with NOTHING at all on it right now, and plenty of space... I could host a guest book script that would be basically the petition, as well as send e-mails to Dobbs if we want it to. I thought about using a free petition hosting site, but we risk band wagon jumpers who just want to sign something getting involved or depending on the validity of the site them requiring some sort of disclaimer about it being a "game". Let me know what you guys think.
Also, sidenote, i finally figured out why ong's hat sounded familier but i didn't have a clue it was a town - because it isn't. it used to be long long long long time ago, now it is basically a ghost story in the woods with one or two buildings... anyone up for joining me for a photo run?

If we go the endangered species route, this well-timed (4/21/06) 5-year study/review notice may provide some flavor text for the site.

I thought a petition would be a great idea so am all for you starting up one. Will definitely sign it. lol I've got some domains and can create a few aliases if we need more names.
I agree that the library has to play a major part in the beginning of things. In CTW1 the action that took place in the basement was some of the most intense moments. I only remember bits of it and have only a few references while looking through the past info - but I do know that Sarah was somehow imprisoned there and it was crucial that we helped get her out.
I wonder if the Marzano clan know the is something unique about the basement and want access to it.

I have also emailed Sarah, offering my help. I think its clear, as others have said, that this is going to play a very significant role in the events to come, whatever they are.
Pixie, let us know if you get that Petition up. I'm sure we'll all sign. Maybe even in-gmae characters will sign too, thatd be awesome

I thought Sarah was part of Phyllis' house. Her artwork was on the walls?

I should be able to have it up by tomorrow morning. I am almost sorry to say, I have a friend coming in from out of town, and a bbq today, so i'll be busy most of the day, but once it hits late evening, i can finish it - then trouble shoot it.... and by tomorrow it should {should being the op word} be in full working order... unless something goes wrong. then it will take until sunday.

In the 2003 game Sarah was the mysterious missing woman whose artwork was painted all over the walls of Phyllis. This game Sarah appears to have taken over for Agatha Dobbs at the library.
