Aglaura Police Department Still Searching for Clues

The Aglaura Police Department is still searching for clues related to the disappearance of six masks stolen from the Aglaura Public Library on May 25. Police have been investigating the incident and state that more details will be forthcoming soon. The masks were part of the library's Artists of Aglaura exhibit and were created by local head librarian and artist Sarah Wyatt.

Film Crew Rumors
Citizens around Aglaura have reported seeing some sort of film or news crew in the Pine Barrens around town. While several different people have apparently seen people with cameras, nobody has been able to track down the crew, and there is no information at this time as to who it might be.

May 31, 2006:

A Sketch of the Past

Today, on this weekend of rememberance and reconciliation, I placed a fresh red poppy in my lapel and turned my thoughts to recent events at our beloved Library as I put this electronic pen to paper.

I have often felt similarly of Aglaura's Library and its tributes to native Aglaurans - Brianna Stover, Wes Keeler, and our head librarian Sarah Wyatt, to name but a few whose works have been prominently displayed or formally exhibited within the Library's walls. However, it is now with a sad heart that I reiterate what is no longer breaking news, ladies and gentlemen, that our beloved Library was burglarized last night. It appears that the six masks that were part of the display for Ms. Sarah Wyatt's new book, "Sixth of Never", were stolen overnight!

As you likely know, my family has been a Friend of the Library for a long time. My dear mother Agatha, would have been heartbroken over this violation of the Library's holdings. With equal feeling, I speak on behalf of the Borough Council to condemn the actions of the thieves. To the thieves, we implore that you consider your actions as more than mere burglary - what you have stolen is worth more to Aglaura than mere money, the amount of which pales in stark comparison to the emotional and societal values of the masks.

To the people and patrons of Aglaura, I ask that if you have seen or know anything regarding the theft of the masks from the Library, please contact the police, the Borough Council, and/or Sarah Wyatt at the Library. First and foremost, we desperately wish for the masks to be returned to their exhibit safely and soundly. In that spirit, I assure you that if you find and return any of the masks to the police or the Borough Council, no questions will be asked.

These folks need to be careful about wishing.....there can be serious consequences.

mrleeds films at YouTube:
Sleepers May 10
Chased June 1
approach June 3
Chasing June 4
Fear June 7
Dark Figure June 11

Regarding these films - we're still not sure if these amateur videos are ingame (but Aglaura is fictional so why would they use this as one of their labels - except not in Sleepers, the first one) or if they are "fan art". The film crew reported by Aglaura News sounded more professional. Until we know for sure, I'll continue to add to this list as the new ones are posted.

Interesting that Sleepers, the first one posted back on May 10 did NOT have Aglaura as a tag. The Sleeper tags are: horror indie film jersey devil pine barrens ongs hat blair witch. This one had mild production value, with music and words.

Next is Chased, with the tags: horror jersey devil pine barrens leeds ongs hat aglaura mystery. Just some weird background sound, no music, nothing much else. This was 3 weeks after the first film.

The tags for approach: horror pine barrens new jersey devil ongs hat aglaura backyard.

And on June 4th and Chasing appears with the tags: horror jersey devil ongs hat pine barrens chased chasing aglaura leeds blair witch. This one had some weird video & sound effects.

And recently, Fear tags: horror fear ongs hat jersey devil aglaura blair witch.

Dark Figure tags: horror pine barrens ongs hat jersey devil aglaura blair witch

When you watch them sequentially, again, not sure if this is Catching the Wish, or just someone doing a Jersey Devil Independent Film and when googling Jersey Devil came across a reference to Aglaura NJ from Chasing the Wish. I didn't find CTW stuff when I googled Jersey Devil, but I did find these:

mrleeds on youtube

Who is that film crew?
Just for the heck of it, I did a search on youtube videos with the word aglaura and found

Category: Entertainment doesn't sound in-game.
We do have a Cecil Leeds running AGP, but the Leeds name is part of the mythos of The Jersey Devil.
From the wiki
Quote:
According to one version of the tale, the Jersey Devil was the thirteenth child born to a Mrs. Leeds, a resident of the Pine Barrens during the mid-17th century. Mrs. Leeds was so upset at yet another pregnancy that after giving birth she exclaimed, "I am tired of children! Let the devil take this one!"

So maybe it's not our Cecil filming in the Pine Barrens, and one person doesn't make a crew. (As an aside...could Cecil be a distant relative of Mrs. Leeds?)
Anyway, mrleeds has a second video called "Sleepers"
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=mrleeds#
At about 00:38 and again at about 00:42, there's a blue circle in the grass and a faint 3 to the left of it orientated like an m. 307?!?

Fan runned OOG or in-game?

I only see the 3 at 42 seconds.

It MIGHT be ingame... I'd recommend watching mrleeds in case he posts any more.

Especially with all that talk about dreams in Sleepers.
definitely looks suspicious to me.

Heh, go to 41 seconds in Sleepers. Razz

Anything with Aglaura, NJ I would think should be considered in game, since even the town it had been (Ong's Hat) is a ghost town that was incorporated into a game.

Anything with the 307 symbol I would think is definitely in game. Nice catch Driz!

*edit*
I sent an e-mail through you tube:
Quote:
Dear Mr. Leeds, are you the same person who works at Ash Grove park? I am very interested to learn more about the blue symbol you taped in your "sleeper" video.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

If nothing else that should help us learn if this is Mr. Leeds from AGP.

Well, mrleeds has a third video up called "approach"- a discovery in the woods.
In it we see an old runned down shack and a dripped stained on something leaning against the shack. Blood?

I'm still not convinced this is in-game, but I'm keeping an eye on it anyway.

At the very end of the clip there's a circle over the right side and my first impression was it that it was someone holding up their hand as if to stop the person from coming closer. But, it's quite pixelated so it could just be nothing.

I was going through the Sleepers video and at 0:41 there is a brief shot of a face. You have to stop the playback and manually work your way forward to get a good look at it...

It's a real creepy face, I hope it isn't Mr. Leeds.

Hehe yep, saw that too. See my post above. Razz

Don't think it means anything though, just something to get subconscious worked up. I could be wrong though.

In the video "Chased", the pixelation effect (the darkened pixels) are obviously artificially placed there.

But yes, I definitely think this is in-game. The person from the 307 site got a 'disposable video camera' from a store:

Quote:
I stopped by the CVS, 'cause I wanted to grab one of those crappy disposable cameras to maybe take some pictures out in the woods of whatever we find, but ended up getting a disposable video camera instead. I didn't even know they made such a thing, but the girl behind the counter said they work fine and she was hot so there you go.

Here are the videos he took.

First video, Sleepers, was put up 3 weeks ago and looks a polished effort. Not sure we knew about the video camera then.
Next two are poor quality eg with a possible disposable, amateur feel.

BUT Mr Leeds membership says hes 25, and I have a feeling that the Nurse is older - some reference to nearing retirement or taking it
easy at my time of life I believe on 307. But of course we all fake our ages!

Just not sure on this one.

EDIT: just seen that this is already being discussed on the 307 thread

we are totally forgetting the news about a Film Crew:
http://aglauranj.org/news/5-31-06.php it actually says
Quote:
"sort of film or news crew in the Pine Barrens around town"

I'm pretty sure none of us would mistake a man with a tiny disposable video camera with a group of professional film makers, would we?

----edits:
heres the scary face
