I'll agree with you, but to a point.

The thing is, there is a lot of time to fill, and I think they're trying to pace it out slow enough so that we'll watch it develop.

I wonder, though, if they have a real ARG development company working behind it. I know the producers of LOST are involved in the game, and if they're the primary people putting it into action, that could be why it's moving as a detatched story (writers not taking the players into account).

Hopefully they'll give us some correspondence? Like some way to actually e-mail Persephone? Or we could try Hugh McIntyre again?

I think this is a good point. They say a story is about characters in conflict, but all we have here is conflict. We need more character. Perhaps if Persephone is fleshed out more (along with any co-conspirators), we'll have more of a reason to care about the story.

Or, to put it more succinctly, enough with the bad guys already. We need to know who the good guys are (or at least, we need to know what they stand for). For crying out loud, DJ Dan has more characterization than Persephone at this point!

You say true. I haven't gotten tired of the game yet, but I can see why it might get that way if it keeps on it's current course.

It was noticed in IRC that where it says 'DAYS', 'HOURS' etc etc. are actually text boxes that you can type into. On my computer, the text boxes seem to stay active until Persephone (or whoever that is) finishes her message, at which point the entire clock turns in to a link back to the IGA page.

Twisted Evil You can all kinds of fun with this, such as:

Hold on just a second. There may not be time for folks to lose interest now. Look at the big picture here....

Someone is saying they can't quite crack the code to break in at this page indicating they need more time to do it. But time is CLEARLY running out. Is that Persephone? If so, she may be relying on us to get this job done for her. It's possible that her existence is in jeapardy should we fail. Maybe it's someone else, but whoever it is, he or she isn't even sleeping because of this time limit.

There are new entry field that numbers can be entered into, so that's probably the trick. That is figuring out the numbers. Recently we've discussed how the "gematrian wheel" is identical to the compass site, so maybe there's a clue there. Or maybe there's an older clue. But my gut is telling me this is something like "24" in that we have to come through before time runs out. I don't think this is merely a countdown to the next update because the countdown is broken down into milliseconds.

We have until exactly 4pm EST to figure this out. Let's get to work.

I'm all for seeing her fleshed out more. It might even make me care more. Laughing

I had to read that twice then.. and I still ended up giggling.

This ARG isn't overly entertaining, I'll give it that - I agree that it's probably because the characters are more like cardboard cutouts with catchphrases than real people...

Well... yeah, it is getting a tad boring. But I can't really complain yet. Remember how much pre-game Perplex City had? It was much longer than this.

Anything, could happen when that countdown reaches zero...

So you think we're still in the setup then?

I think so. There are still three months of game likely to go. That's a lot of game, and if they reveal EVERYTHING within the first month at four or five days, we got nothing left.

But look, they're setting up a story. We find out that the guys behind Hanso are not so cool. We find out that the book "Bad Twin" is written by a guy on Oceanic 815, AND his previous book has some connection to Hanso and potentially evil stuff. All is not well in the state of Denmark (bahahaha I just realized that) and we haven't even found out why yet.

(Remember - done by the Lost people. They always take a long time to set everything up on the series, but the payoff is always worth it)

Something like fifteen minutes left on the countdown.

Two minutes left!!! I'm so excited!

EDIT: It ended at 11:00 west coast time, and now it is flashing all sorts of numbers, kinda like the countdown, I wonder if I should type in the numbers??

Really? Well mine's 1 minute... Razz

Edit: It's stopped at 32 milliseconds

Then if you click on 'disease' again, every number counts down from 9 to 0 and a fast pace... but that's all?

Edit edit: Okay, I take it back. Something happens. I guess this is just the curse of IE. Man, I was only using it for 5 minutes! Back to firefox.

It takes you to a forest like thing where you click, then zoom, and then you see a dharma shark... and then it is done. Doesn't make sense to me but I have yet to rent the first season DVD where it mentions the sharks.
