[UPDATE]The Ooze Zone 08/06/2006

Quote:
A man walks into a bar

So I've been doing the secret agent thing again. My plan was to get matey with the Hesh lot, and step one involved me propping up the bar in Brain Bender last night and looking for familiar faces. I know a few Hesh types drink round there, and I didn't want to wait until their Pyramid night next Monday. So I nursed a pint over a crypto crossword and kept an eye out.

Anyway, I spotted someone I kind of recognised heading for a booth with a couple of colleagues - they were all wearing those carefully shredded music pro clothes - and I shuffled myself into position in the next booth along.

Turned out that I didn't need to make conversation because I could hear every word they said. And I saved myself a trip to Brain Bender next week too, because Pyramid night has been cancelled. There's some exclusive Hesh Solstice party going down instead and everyone will be there. Where 'there' is I don't know. And I'm not sure who 'everyone' is either. But I'm betting it will be a nice big crowd for me to blend into, full of Hesh people getting leathered. Ideal.

Only problem is, I have a bit of a reputation at Hesh. We sent them a demo a while ago and Crowley didn't take rejection well... Suffice it to say that members of The Ooze are unlikely to make the guest list. In fact, my name is more likely to be on their black list. So if you have any sharp ideas to get me into the party, I'm all ears.

Hacking into computer file system, putting his name on the guest list and deleting any pics they have of him? We could do with knowing where it is really, perhaps a back door?

Or something?

lol I know I'm talking rubbish but its been a long day... Rolling Eyes

Bear suit.

Caine should wear a bear suit to the party.

(I'm sorry that the second reply is a joke, but I couldn't resist.)

My guess is that we would need to get him into the party as a date with someone else under "XYZ and guest".

I sense Violet and much potential awkwardness in his future...

Tippy probably knows a bunch of people on the guest list and would be happy to help pull something over on Hesh. Let's ask her for help - we did just get her email recently, no?

He could slip in the back door as a bus boy or cocktail waitor.

I like the idea of talking to Tippy. I'm sure she would be thrilled if a drink was "accidentally" spilled on a certain persons expensive evening gown. A few laxatives could be slipped in Mr. Hesh's drink.

Like most guys I'm clueless about the female psyche, but wouldn't the idea of showing up at Hesh's party, looking exstatically happy with a new date be enough to snare Tippy? Especially if that date is disliked by Hesh?

I'm sure Tippy would love getting back at Hesh for his known womanizing and breaking up with her. It's a shame after writing this I've grown rather fond of him all of a sudden.
To women with glasses on face or with gin!

I had originally thougth of Tippy in my original suggestion but could not come up with what the proper motivation would be for her. I think this is the best route I've heard...

Definitely...I'm not sure whether she'll see Caine as a good enough catch though, maybe we need to make it sound like Caine is desperate, and that she's obviously the only choice for the job - the most well known socialite on two planets. Some extravagant flattery. He needs her help to get back at a common enemy.

Will Caine ever forgive us though?

Considering the alternative is a bear suit, he'll just have to. Wink

Option A: Bear Suit
Shouldn't that be a F***ING BEAR HAT?

Option B: Have Tippy escort Caine
This assumes she would be invited, and given that Hesh jilted her, he might make sure she is not.

Option C: Have Tippy hand Caine off to someone she knows is going
Possible, but they would have to be willing to take Caine without asking why (or we need a good cover). More likely, we'd want Tippy to do it because we can give her the reason to get back at Hesh without asking too many questions beyond the revenge angle.

Option D: Hack into Hesh and put Caine on the list
We've done it before ... but where do we look? On the Intranet site? If so, where? If it's not on the Hesh Intranet site, what then? Also has the problem that if Caine's name shows up on the list, they might know that it has been tampered with.

Option E: Hack into Hesh and put someone else (read: one of our allies) and have them bring Caine as a guest
In this case, our ally might end up being Tippy as she'd be the only one who could fit in without looking too out of place. Advantage here is that we guarantee who gets in. Disadvantage is the same as D.

Option F: Have Caine sneak in as a waiter/busboy/what-have-you
Strong possibility he would say no. Also, he would not be able to talk to the guests there without raising a lot of suspicion. On the other hand, he would have an excuse to wander around the floor and listen in to a lot of conversations without talking to other people. However, he could not stay in the same place for too long before security figures out he's not supposed to be there.

Option G: Give Hesh a reason to invite Caine
What if Earth was clamoring for The Ooze's music? For instance, Caine puts up a few MP3s of the band's music on the site. What would happen if suddenly the number of downloads of the music skyrocketed? Could Caine use that to go to Hesh and say, we've got an audience ready-made, do you want to consider making a deal?

Think about this. Viard's disc has made it to Earth, but it didn't get much airplay or do that many sales. Hesh is a businessman, and we're stupid Earthers ... if their money's good, who cares if their taste is horrific? Only problem is that the timeframe is somewhat short to pull this off.

Tippy might be a good angle because the recent Hesh-Duncan wedding rumors might have stirred her up a bit. The wound is still somewhat fresh and got some salt poured on it. We just have to see if she'd be willing to take Caine (somehow I doubt it ... last in-office target was Garnet), and if she is invited in the first place (again, not a sure bet). We might be able to take care of the latter by adding her to the list, but I'm not sure even that enticement would be enough to get her to take Caine. Remember she wants to show Hesh up ... going with Caine, in her mind, might speak of desperation.
