SEO Refugee post

Now that's interesting. He wants you to take a look at his site before acting like you know what the industry is.

No mention of taking a look at UF's rules before crapping all over them, though. Ponderous.

And hm, either I made a mistake in outlining the dependent relationships, or there's a flaw in the puzzle, because entering T for both P3 and P4 results in problems in the other people's statements, but I have now lost interest and am going to bed.

Phaedra you think too much, that's why you probably can't sleep Wink

If Porta did it: P1, P2, P4 would be false
If Spencer did it: P2, P3, P4 would be false
If Popham did it: O1, O2, O3 would be false

All of which have more than 2 false which is not accepted, therefore Wheatstone did it Smile

Of course we can stop here but we won't...

Now to double check by making sure the statements fit, if Wheatstone did it then we are sure of the following (stealing does not imply taking a photograph or key ownership):

Code:

  1 2 3 4
P T T ? ?
S ? F ? ?
O T F ? ?
W ? F ? F

Because of the 2/2 rule (only 2 true/2 false) W1, W3 are true and P3, P4 are false.

Let's check the new conclusions for consistency:

P3 - Check for false, no conflict

P4 - Check for false, no conflict

W1 - Check for true (he took the pictures, he didn't "take pictures OF" (photograph) the members of Operation Dark)

W3 - Check for true (implies O4 is false)

O4 - Check for false (creates 2/2 rule for O3 is true)

O3 - Check for true (implies S1, P4 are false)

S1 - Check for false (creates 2/2 rule for S3, S4 true)

S3 - Check for true (implies W3 true, P3,O4 false)

S4 - Check for true (took the photos "for" the microfilm, not "of" so no conflict with W1, or one is "photos for the microfilm" and the other is "pictures of Operation Dark" so again no conflict)

Code:

  1 2 3 4
P T T F F
S F F T T
O T F T F
W T F T F

So the microfilm was stolen by Wheatstone using Popham's key, while Popham was with Spencer at the movies. Meanwhile, Porta was at home sobbing alone because he wasn't invited to the party and nobody loved him.

Maybe we should explain here (in this very thread):
1) what clean SEO is really about
2) that any self-respecting professional webmaster should be involved in SEO
3) not everyone you come across on the web is a con artist.

Maybe some of these people will read it. Here lemme optimise this thread some more....

This is about the Sabotage game realsabotage.com by Benjamin Cook
Hoping for something positive to come out of this, or else I'll be forced to refer to these (probably nice) people as "muppets" from now on

PS: everyone is free to sign up and comment.

PPS: I found that forum/thread and yes: a lot of those comment were on the short-sighted side....

We're "muppets"???? Wait a minute. Benjamin came into OUR yard to play. We didn't invite him. He broke a rule (or two) and then has the audacity to complain that WE are short-sighted and should read his rules first?

I don't want to start any sort of flame war, but I so want to "join" that SEO forum and do some name-calling. But I won't. At least Benjamin admits we are not picking on him - that UF is a curious bunch and good at digging deep into the puzzles presented to us (that it wasn't a personal attack).

So, what does your muppet look like? I couldn't find a muppet for myself, but did find some interesting anime type art by alicia boros (what is PlanetFurry???)

Re: leak photo

Okay, everyone sing along with me now...

And it's one, two, THREE strikes you're out, at the old ball game!

Seriously, I don't know how much clearer it can be said. If you're involved in this game, you can't post in this thread. Since you can't seem to understand that, I'm locking this thread until at such time an admin can look over the situation and decide what needs to be done.

And now back to your regularly scheduled ball game.

----
edit: Okay, now that the admins have dealt with this and taken steps to make sure it doesn't happen again, the thread can be reopened for those players who want to continue on with whatever this is.

wheatstone & 1809 ?

I'm stretching with this a little, but it's the only link between the puzzle answer, Wheatstone, 1809, and an "obsolete code" that I can find:

1) In 1809 the German inventer Samuel Soemmering created the multi-wire telegraph, which appears to be the "first telegraph".

2) Sir Charles Wheatstone, after seeing an 1816 demonstration (at age 15) of Sir Francis Ronalds' experimental one-wire telegraph, was credited with the invention of the "commercial telegraph" (1837).

3) Samuel Morse, of course, created the first electric telegraph and Morse Code (1840s).

4) Telegraphy is essentially obsolete today.

I've found the filing papers for Bergs, LLC, the company behind the Sabotage site.

https://www.sos.mo.gov/BusinessEntity/soskb/Corp.asp?1885681

Looks like they're a real company after all. *Prepares his application.*

This is the text I recieved after sending an e-mail to infoSPLATrealSabotage.com for more information.

Quote:
Thanks for your interest in This New Reality Game Show.
We're excited to be launching now!
I understand your concerns about identity theft, etc. As a company
with legal responsibilities we are unable and not interested in using
your personal information for nothing other than to ensure that our
participants and production staff are themselves safe. Hence, the
requirements for background checks and releases/waivers. We do not ask
for much more than any production/entertainment company or for that
matter any job application would request. We are bound legally to
protect our staff, players and audience.
Sabotage has been in design phase for many years and has had many
variables throughout the process. So you can understand that we are
excited to be casting now and filming this fall as a syndicated show.
More information about the company, producer, and host will be in the
media as we move closer to production.

About BERGS, LLC:

new heights with the development of SABOTAGE, and several other new
Reality Game Shows in design-phase and projected releases for 2007
through 2008. It's mission is to produce innovative, popular and
profitable reality entertainment, by bringing ?real people? to reality
games and giving more fans the opportunity to participate in the
reality gaming world.

Contact Info:

Hopefully we can rest your concerns and you will still be interested
in participating. If you have further questions, I would be happy to
answer them.
As we approach the deadline for recieving applications for this open
Casting Call, you will see more press and if you still have concerns,
then attend one of the Live Auditions and you can meet some of our
production staff in person, including myself or the Host of the show.

Good Luck! and hope to see you on the show,

L.M. Beasley

Sounds all official to me. *shrugs* But what all do I know?

Here's what I know. On three seperate occasions in this thread, someone connected to the PM (or the PM himself) has posted. As a result, and citing past experiences with other such occurences, I am locking off this thread until the game creator speaks to an administrator directly about their behaviour and total disregard for the TOS agreement that we have here.

You can reach any of the administrators by emailing them, game creation team.

Edit: Whatever, here, puzzle solve away. Mad

blueprint pieces

So i'm in the midst of tearing out the text from that blueprint image. There is a repeated pattern in the letters, just a simple substitution of various fonts, and another longer string.

I shrunk this down, so the longer string might be hard to see (i'll fix that later), but for now you can work on the short 3-word pattern.

returning later...
(well, i couldn't delete this post, but I can at least remove the duplicate attachment. weird)

blueprint pieces

grr. doubleposted then deleted both. What did I say?

There are several repeated strings of the same pattern in different fonts. There is also a single longer string. I shrunk this image too much to see the longer string well (i'll fix that later), but for now you can work on solving the short substitution pattern.

(note that in Russian, the 'bI' is a single letter)

Lines removed.

Text seperated.

Still some lines and objects on the 'bunched' line on the right. I honestly can't tell the difference between the two because it doesn't look like it means anything. Surprised
