Since there is no more clues til the 21st, i thought i would bring this up.
The secret island.
Is the map that we have all come to know and loath an actual depiction of the island itself.
Because I have been using a combination of Tomtom software, google earth and various picture matching software to narrow down the location of the island.
But apparently its not exactly one of a kind.
Got hits nearly every where, canada, south america, the canaries, sweden..... etc. etc.

Any help in narrowing it down would be appericated.

But there was an interesting few returns on the search.
Africa.
I think Its more than likely there because.....
1. The puzzel so far has been all closely related to africa and....
2. For some reason, people in the south of africa are not allowed to take part in the promtion.
3. The terrain would be consistant with what we have seen.

Any thoughts?

Check them out.

My e-mail from Volvo was sent at 9:04 am (Pacific coast time).
I wonder if all of the official e-mails will be at the start of a work day? For myself, even if I did not have to work, my boss would not appreciate me hanging out on "St Helena" all day to try to win a car, not to mention the fact that my work computer doesn't allow cookies or use the latest Flash (so I CAN'T work on the puzzles during the day). This could mean that the last clue (July 12 - I believe) will be posted at 9 am on a business day!
Good luck to those people with a flexible schedule!

Maybe I will develop a sudden July stomach-flu!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
write down every symbol set with its number on a piece of paper. then tear them out so you've got 11 pieces. You can make them link from one to another. that help?

i have 12 pieces(7,0,E,N,7,1,0,4,1,3,2,1)
and how do they link?

P.S.-How do you get the spoiler thing to work on quotes?[/spoiler]

Well, Sir Clutch, you came to the right place if you want similar games. Click on the "News & Rumors" link that is the parent of this thread. You'll see a whole lot of small games or ones that are just starting that are similar to this. Not everything there is a game, but part of the fun is trying to figure out if there is something there or its just a random blip.

If you want to take on something a bit bigger or want to make sure you are playing a game instead of just wandering into something that may be a fluke coincidence, take a look at the three ARGs under the "ARGs with Potential" link. These are games that people have identified as actually being ARGs (if you don't know what that is, check out http://www.unfiction.com/welcome/gs/ ). These games are ones that are longer term in scope and are just getting started.

If you want an established ARG, you could take a look at Catching the Wish, EDOC Laundry, or Perplex City. All three have their own section here on UF. While they are somewhat larger in scope than this game, they have plenty of puzzles. These three each have a large storyline with multiple puzzles that all tie together. There is a lot to cover, though, because they've been going on for sometime now (CtW, while the youngest, is actually a sequel to an ARG of the same name; EDOC is about 4-8 months depending on how you date it; and Perplex City has been running for over two years).

There's plenty to choose from here. Take a look around.

EDIT: Corrected spelling of Catching the Wish.

Question:

I've solved the puzzle(s) up to date, but it seems that I have to go back through all phases each time I go back to the game. Does anyone know what you have to do to save where you are and start from that point when new clues come or when returning to the game to continue play?

Click on the bookmark ..... (the dots for where you are currently) and it will save it in your favourites, when you come back just go to your favourites, click on the place you were at (Pulau Jong for me now) and it will take you straight there Wink

I'm having great fun with this, shame I'm not eligable to win (all because I'm too lazy to learn to drive, LOL), I would enter my dad or mum but no point because even if they got to the final they woulnd't be able to solve the final problems to win the final prize.
