Max

I understand your frustration, many of us, including myself had the answers last night. But in this game some things don't become active until the PM's are ready.

Ok, so this picture on mercury.html looks like it has a message hidden in it, in a certain color.

So someone who is Photoshop savvy, try applying different color filters and that will probably bring out the message.

EDIT:

There is also a blank spot in the middle of the image - like a text field.

It could be an abstract work with a single word in the center - the word being the next page. For Example we have seen a few of Jackson Pollock's paintings as well as others.

Well, maybe it's just me, but if I'm going to have a game, and I release a clue in the form of an email or something, I'm going to have the puzzle ready when I release the clue.

I blame it in Dale working with a new crew of guys. Wink

Edited to add:

Some interesting research on why the pages all say "Welcome Ravens"

http://www.ravenfamily.org/nascakiyetl/obs/rav1.html
Quote:
A rather bizarre association is that of ravens and chess. In the Welsh "The Dream of Rhonabwy", Owain ap Urien and Arthur were playing a game which is thought to have been a chess equivalent. Three hundred ravens are mentioned in this tale as belonging to Owain, a gift from Cenferchyn. Arthur's men attacked the ravens during play, and eventually Owain told them to retaliate, upon which they attacked Arthur's men unmercifully. One of the pieces in chess is, of course, the rook, another member of the crow family (corvus frugilegus).

In Cervantes' "Don Quixote", the hero says that Arthur was not killed at all, but was turned into a raven. Arthur is also sometimes associated with the cult of Mithras, which was popular with the Roman legions. The cult organisation was based upon seven ranks that a worshipper could pass through, and the first of these was Raven.

Just some pages I went through looking up the answer last night and today. Maybe they'll help in the near future?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mithraism
http://englishatheist.org/mithra/mom02.htm
http://www.astro.wisc.edu/~dolan/constellations/java/Indus.html
http://www.roman-britain.org/places/vercovicium.htm

These are just the most pertinent ones I found.

I too understand your frustration, but I think they didn't activate it earlier because the summer solstice didn't occur until June 21st. That was part of the message in the email we all received on June 20th.

Sorry Shelina. I tried corax because that's what the first degree initiates in Mithras were called.

I was messing around in Photoshop last night and applying different color filters on the latest image.

There is definitely something there, but I just don't have the expertise to fine tune the filtering and get something legible out of it.

Anyone else have any luck?

It's so nebulous that it's hard to distinguish.
I'm still toying with kona's idea of it being a map of Greece.
It could be a grouping of certain prefectures in the Sterea county area.
Greek places are known by so many names, it's hard to be more specific than that.
EDIT: All I'm finding is olive orchards, though.

sky map

I believe it has to do with the star cluster m13 (aka NGC 6205) in the center of the Hercules constellation and ironically named "Hercules Cluster."
But I've tried all night and can't get anything to work. Maybe after the conference tonight something will happen to change things.

Here are some links to my reasoning:

The Gatekeeper Opens the Gate

Hercules

Hercules Cluster M13, NGC 6205

Search on Hercules Cluster

For some reason I can't or don't know how to get the following url to work so you will have to copy and paste it.
Notice the Globular Cluster M13 lies on the top of the hero's head
Code:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hercules_(constellation)#Graphic_visualization

Hercules in myth

And if you Google M13p stars images you will find many that seem to have those dots seen in the image.

Just Speculating

[edit 1]
And Mercury is referred to as messenger of the gods

[edit 2]
To add this in the above (aka NGC 6205) and "and ironically named Hercules Cluster" and more helpful links.

Syliva I think you are on the right track also.... I was looking at star connections too.... from the list of words..... Vega jumped out as it is part of the Summer Triangle.... M13 is the 'Great globular cluster in Hercules' ... but what does the 'p' stand for? I've searched and can't find what it might be..... hmmmmmmm

I don't think it's related, but for the heck of it, I noticed that we (we being earthlings) sent a message to that cluster. The Arecibo message. Unfortunately, the message is all images.
