Hey...

Did you feel that?

.....

The immersion level just went up by 100%.

Nothing like a live conference call with several characters to really pull you into the world!

I loved loved loved it.

I'd like to say a big "Thank you and good job" to the people who wrote and read prepared statements. They all sounded very professional and had great points.

Interesting thing Dale said at the end. To paraphrase:

"And I hope everyone gets their wish on this matter."

I have a bad feeling..... Phylis probably could have at least tied the vote if she sat in for JD and I bet he was the man at AGP so she clearly wasn't in any shape to do so..... wonder what the kids 'back up plan' is?

Redevelopment Plan Decision Comes Down to Single Vote

In a monthly meeting that included many unusual events, the Aglaura Borough Council last night rejected Phase 2 of the Aglaura Redevelopment Plan proposed by local company Marzent LLC by a vote of 43 to 42. After an extended and often contentious meeting and debate, the plan failed by a single vote, saving Mayor Dobbs the uncomfortable task of having to cast a tie-breaking vote, as it appeared he might have to.

At the request of Council member Diana Sprague, a Roll Call vote was taken, with each voterÕs name and vote being recorded as they voted, just one of the unusual factors involved in this monthÕs Council meeting. As set forth in the Aglaura charter, all registered citizens that want to are allowed to vote on major community issues like this but rarely do more than a handful participate. Last night almost 100 people filled the meeting room, along with a few dozen non-residents who took part in a special call-in open discussion portion of the meeting.

The Plan appeared to pass at first, as what was thought to be the last vote was cast left the tally at 40 NAYs and 42 AYEs, but two residents who arrived late to the meeting then cast their vote, both against the plan, tying the vote at 42 Ð 42, and leaving many thinking Mayor Dobbs would have to cast the tie-breaking vote per the duties of his position. Before the Mayor had to vote, however, the Aglaura webmaster Sam Greene, whose duties kept her pre-occupied in the computer rooms of the facility, showed up to cast the deciding vote, causing the plan to fail 43 to 42.

Several of the voters, including Joseph Tennant and Janet Holloway, credited the passionate remarks by the call in participants along with similar email messages they have received recently, with swaying their votes. ÒSometimes people removed from the actual situation can see it most clearly,Ó said Mr. Tennant.

Marzent spokesman Bruce Abbott refused to comment on the outcome, saying that the company would issue an official response shortly. Aglaura Public Library head Librarian Sarah Wyatt, obviously overjoyed and overcome with emotion by the vote, also refused to make a statement.

two residents arrived late

Since they went in order that would be Phylis and Iris.... and then Sam cast the tie breaking vote.... how cool!

Also, wonder if we should keep this list in mind for 'who to trust' as things proceed?

But this is probably just the beginning of the real problems. Remember - beware of what you wish for - you just might get it. What is Don going to do now if he can't get access to the library building? Course this is based on him wanting to get in there in the first place. Smile

I must say I feel a little sorry for Bruce though.... undoubtedly he'll have to deal with the wrath of Marzant but can you imagine what he had to listen to from the witch Diana last night?!? poor guy!

I dont think so. Just because someone supported the redevelopment does not make them a bad person or evil. Most probably honestly beleived that th eplan was good for Aglaura, or some such.

I've been trying to compile contact Info, also.
It might be time for a wiki.
Here's what I got, so far (sorted by Yeas vs: Nays for the moment) and some extras on the last tab. Not sure how to categorize Mystes.
http://rogi.ocnorb.googlepages.com/CTW-2contacts.htm

EDIT: I'm also wondering the following...
Who, exactly make up the six Council mambers?
The list on the city website says it's:
Code:
Simon Smythe (Head)
Matthew Sheppard
Diana Sprague
Donna Brewer
Dale Sprague
Corrinne Barkhouse

But the archived Mayor's comments mention J.D. Willingham as a Council member as well (Or Iris as proxy). Do we not count Simon.

I ask this as I'm thinking that we may need to associate each member to a specific mask.
Those being:
Code:
Knowledge
History
Nature
Technology
Sacred
Man
In the order they appeared in Sarah's dream.

Hmm, I suppose it can be said that 'Knowledge' has been saved.
That leads me to spec that we have five more quests to accomplish, one for each of the mask representations and their associated archetype.

Would that make the off memory problems (i.e. two sets of memories) the section to tackle for History?

Edit:

From The Aglaura website facts page:
Population: 3,664 (2000 census - including surrounding rural area)

If less than 100 people voted, that is less than 3% of the population that made the decision. Shoot that was less than turned out for the 2000 US Election (at less than 30%)!

Read through the list of voters again. Some names stand out a little more than others.

Erin Spelling???? Come on, sound it out!
Tracy Butterfield - wasn't the Burlington News tv reporter named Tracy? Is this the same name? I can't remember.

I already posted one little inside PM joke, and at the beginning of the game I identified one council member with my real life last name.

Anyone else see anything??? Just checking.
