Library Books & poltergeist

Hi bgardner:
Thanks so much for your e-mail of concern over the recent events at the Aglaura Public Library. It's really very touching that so many people are genuinely concerned over my beloved Library. Thank God that, at least so far, no one has been hurt in any way.

As far as the incidents at the Library are concerned, the first one, a few
weeks ago, the books were strewn about apparanetly randomly throughout the building. We did make a list of the books involved but it was quite lengthy and there didn't seem to be any obvious correlation between them that we could tell. As far as their positions, like I mentioned, it was random as far as we could tell but it did give the overall appearance strangely enough as if the books themselves were trying to "get out" of the Library. By that I mean, they almost seemed to have moved in somewhat straight lines towards the nearest available outside wall! Isn't that strange! We actually did think maybe someone
broke in for this first incident, and took some steps to try and prevent
another incident.

The event a couple of days ago was somewhat different in that many of the books appeared to have been arranged in deliberate, non-random patterns. I have no idea (even a wild guess) why anyone would want to do that or how they would have gotten into the Library without setting off the alarms, however. I did ask Sam to take some photos of some of the patterns though, in case we didn't get anything on the recently installed cameras we put in after the initial incident.

So thanks for your e-mail. It was a welcome break to the rain, depression, and tension around here lately.

Sincerely,
Agatha Dobbs
Librarian
Aglaura Public Library
