I have no clue what this means.
I got those exact numbers and letters when I decoded it.
However, I have no idea what to do with this information in order to get latitude / longitude coordinates.

If anyone can help with the location of the next stop it would be appreciated. I have watched the flashing lights 4 times and can only get numbers (based upon the Morse Code sheet I have) and only 2 letters.

Subtract the latter from the former (-...- = minus sign) using numerical values for the letters

getting the forum to show leading spaces on a line is much more difficult

I was just going to write:
How does that word come out of that solution?!?
And then the clue brick hit me on the head.
I understand now. Thanks.

I wanted to say thank you to those of you who are helping. I am helping my sister and you all have been a big help. Getting the answers is one thing, but we all need to understand how we got those answers. I wish I could post something helpful, but by the time I get even halfway close, most of you already have figured it out. Thanks to EVERYONE who posts their thoughts along the way, even if your answer isn't right the first time. We all need help with the thought process.

It's tough not getting email hints until noon (Mountain Std Time) but brute force guessing from looking at the Hunt map works most of the time. Cape Horn access only took 6 guesses to get in. With a couple of pre-4th of July pints under the hood, staring at a bobbing lighthouse will have to wait until tomorrow.

Post subject: pulau jong answer Emily - the winds collide in the middle of the Hunt Island. Move the compass to the exact middle of the island and you will see the red needle point to your right. It will be pointing to one short word which is the answer. If that does not help let me know.

Actually there is a 'needle' or more like an arrow already pointing to 'bats' after you use your compass/wind direction instrument to locate the general area on the map where all the winds collide. I figured that this was the 'needle'. No need to move your compass/wind direction instrument to the place. Just a thought.
