EMAIL & INFO Sarah's Notes on the "Tree of Life&quo

Craziness, indeed. I got this message with a huge zip file attached and then three more tried to arrive and I got admin "mailbox full" notices. So I only got this first page. I cleaned out my mailbox, probably deleted letters I'll regret losing, and emailed Sam to please try again. Still waiting but thought I'd put this up in the meantime. Arrgh! How frustrating!

Dear Sally,
Hi. How are you? Once again I find myself sending you an official e-mail
bearing both good and bad news. Which would you like first?
The bad, you say? OK, here goes. Because of the craziness around here in
the last week, especially the invasion of the Municipal Building by the
investigators and officials from everywhere you could think of, I didn't
get your envelope with the notes from the painting you won sent out until
Saturday. You know, the notes from the artist, Sarah Wyatt, that were originally
supposed to accompany the painting itself when you received it.

Now the good news. Attached is a zip file (The first of four) of the pages
of notes from the painting - I scanned them for you because of the delay
again. So not only will you be receiving the actual pages in the mail, you also can
save these images to your computer, send them to your circle of trusted
friends, etc. I hope this makes them easier for you to deal with too - you don't
have to fool around with trying to scan them.
I know it doesn't make up for all the delays you've been out through, but
I hope it's something you appreciate anyway.

BTW - Dale and I did go out to the Hiking Trails yesterday and spent a
good bit of time searching around the area where the old trails disappear and
the "seventh" Pleiades area might be. Unfortunately, it started getting
dark before we could finish - going through that overgrown forest area is tough
and slow-going. We didn't find anything but we did see signs that someone else
has been going through that same area recently. Dale's afraid someone else is
looking for the same thing we are. He was going to go back out there this
morning, before going out to Ash Grove PArk with Dr, Kendra, but I haven't
heard from him yet.

Sarah's First Page

There's a sketch of the painting with descriptive notes like "swirls" up in the branches and "roots" and "the tree." Other words are bigger "Intersecting Worlds." "Norns," "Ash," and "Yggdrasill?" Then she writes about it's inspiration.

Quote:

An image from a dream I had. It began with voices. Some I knew, some I did not. The one I call "Jon" was there, I think, and so was that young girl. I'm sure I hear her voice. She kept saying "The Tree, the Tree." An old woman's voice was saying, "Egg" (or was this "ygg") and then that other strange word or name – yggdrasill. From that word, an image grew before me. A tree, growing from the world, or a world, and it grew, touching others as it grew. An eagle, or maybe was a hawk flew above, circling the tree. It caled to me "Come, join me." I looked down at the roots of the tree, here in my world and somehow knew, by climbing it, it would take me to somewhere new.

Page Two

Sam said he was sorry because he had been afraid the zips would jam my inbox. So
he's sending them one at a time. The second page doesn't have any doodles or drawing
so there's not much reason to upload the image. It says:

Quote:
The painting goes slow. The basic form is there but I can't seem to finish it.
One day I paint it exactly as I see it but with the light of the next day, it all
looks wrong. As if it is changing, all the time.

Took a break today. I got the south wall in Hamilton's room done first though.
I went with my new friend Todd today, in his car, to a fun place. He called it the
park. I think it was called Ash Grove. It was a (scatched out two letters, look like
"ph") fun place, with lots to do. I met a lot of new people there. One man wanted
to tell my future but I wouldn't let him. He wouldn't let me go though and Todd had
to chase him away. He said, "You know, sometimes your future finds you, my dear.
Oh yes, especially you." He bothered me for a while until Todd bought me some cotton
candy and took me home.

Strange dreams last night. That man from the park was in them. I was inside a tent
or something and there was…

Upload!

There is always a reason to upload! I, and I'm sure others, would like a copy just for completeness. Thanks.

Still waiting for 3rd page

Poor Sam! He tried to send the 3rd page but the zip file was corrupted. Jez! This is frustrating! I asked if he couldn't simply cut the dpi and the size in half and then send the jpg as an attachment instead of zipping it. I haven't heard back from him yet. I told him in my last email that I was beginning to feel like mysterious forces had jinxed the whole transaction from the beginning... At the rate we're going, I could have the notes in the mail before he sends me all of the zips. Crying or Very sad

Anyway, "for completeness sake," I'm attaching the jpg of the 2nd page. And, hey, if anyone thinks I've made a made in my transcripts, please speak up. In particular, I am concerned about my identification of her "friend" on the 1st page. It sures looks like "Jon" but the J is kinda loopy and not like the other J's on the page. I had other members of my household look at it and they agreed that's it's a J but it still looks weird to me. And on the 2nd page, notice how she does her T's. At first, I thought the guy who took her to agp was named "Yodd." LOL!

Is it Jon or Don or ? You decide.

Because there is some controversy about my transcription of her friend's name as Jon and it could be Don, I'm attaching a blow-up of the name so everyone can decide.

Yggdrasill: in Norse mythology, the great tree of the world. Its branches and roots extended through all the universe?the heavens, the earth, and the underworld. At its top sat an eagle, at its bottom twined a serpent, and between them ran a squirrel breeding discord. It was prophesied that at the doom of the gods the tree would be destroyed.

Pages 3 and 4 -- Wow!

Hi Sally,
You know, this is getting really nuts! I don't know what is wrong with the zip
file but it doesn't matter right now because this e-mail system isn't letting
me attach anything to any message right now. I'm strating to think your joking
suggestion about the "dead eyes" fooling around with it may not be so funny.
But don't let it be said that I can't do the old work-around!
So here you go. Let me know if these work for now.
