After posting the link to the audio conversation, linked above, she updated her blog to say this:

Quote:

19.09: Is it just me, or did you detect a little insurrection in the ranks? Guess management courses aren't required to get your evil medical degree.

So, there you have it. Confirmation. Our suspicions were right. Those savants were running the Valenzetti Equation (or an attempted facsimile)!!

If, like me, your brief moment of elation has turned into dread, then you, too, realize how serious this is. True Valenzetti Equation or false, Mittelwerk is dipping his hands in a stream that leads to apocalypse.

But, what's next... is it this SPIDER PROTOCOL? If so, I'm afraid the wheels are already in motion.

Where is ALVAR HANSO in this??? Mittelwerk claims to have Hanso's proxy, but I agree with Peter Thompson.

A Hanso appearance would answer a lot of my questions.

But I don't think that's gonna happen unless we make it happen. How? I don't know.

I realize that seems to be my stock answer right now... and, I won't lie... with each passing day, my hopes are dwindling that this thing's gonna come out on the side of right.

But, I'm not outta hope yet. Valenzetti, the veracity of Mittelwerk's equation, they still seem to be a wrench in the good doc's gears.

Unfortunately the man's fate is still unknown. I've talked to a lot of people - there is no definitive account of his alleged death...

But then again, there's also no evidence he's alive. It's a dangerous gamble, but I may have to follow Mittelwerk's lead after all.

GidgetGirl, I know we may be on the outs - but, for the sake of everyone, do you have anything else I can use?

Pretty useless wheel-spinning. I guess we're waiting on GG. Again.

Click on "the truth" under the LOST Radio links on the left hand side of Ninja's page. Use the login and pw posted above.

in chat, Kinetic explained the logic of how one would know to look there:
[14:43] <kinetic> in ninja's blog he makes reference to The Truth
[14:44] <kinetic> in his radio links on the left, one is labeled TheTruth
[14:44] <kinetic> that takes you to the login, then RB updated her blog with the user:pw

(i just love how we have people willing to dig for these things, and then the game updates for the rest of us)

Okay, some reactions to the latest events:

1: Props to the PM team for actually providing us with recordings of the conversation. Despite re-using their voice cast (and I'm pretty sure that's what it is) they followed up with what people in the blog were asking about, recording the voices for them. I give that two thumbs up.

2: Boo on the lack of really anything for us to do that seems to matter, other than just poking around and watching movie clips (unless we're overlooking something: sphynxian, valentzeetiequation, etc).

We're either waiting for Act 2.5 to kick in with something interesting like the Hanso site, or we're just playing the role of casual observers. Also, it looks like Rachel abandoned the hunt for that mysterious island pretty quickly.

Who knows -- this is probably just a mistake on the part of TPTB, but did anyone check out the Artist name of the filename "no_yesmen.mp3"? It's DJ Dan.

I would have posted an attachment, but I didn't realize it wouldn't be a thumbnail.

Yeah, I'm willing to bet that this was a last-minute production by the PMs in order to give us a little something more. Chances are it was recorded real quick in their offices while prepping for the next update. Probably using the same recording that they use to get the DJDan podcasts.

Just a minor flub due to most-likely last minute work. I still give them the thumbs up for doing it though.

I'm completely with Lucent on all this. It's really not so interesting anymore now that we're just waiting on the agitating Rachel Blake to update us and give us everything. And yeah, she did abandon the island thing all of a sudden...all this jumping around...

This would be entirely acceptable, of course, if we were given assignments. I was thrilled when she asked us to find the island for her, but in truth there was nothing to find. The one island ended up being a potential flub on behalf of the PMs not thinking we'd be clever enough to deduce the location of the island and the other assignment "Find a copy of the Valenzetti Equation book" just doesn't have any leads or even a potential resolution aside from waiting for Rachel to solve everything for us.

I feel like Frodo being led around by the nose by Gandalf.

Hopefully we'll be the ones scaling Mount Doom in the end, but by that point, will anyone care to?

I know I'm being a bit critical, but the momentum behind the experience has lost much wind in the second act due to the severe lack of interactivity. The first act set us up to be the followers of this very savvy and intelligent hacker codenamed Persephone. Now she suddenly ditches her fake name to reveal who she "really" is to us (if Rachel really is Perseph, despite the admission) and now we're watching her stumble across the globe and accomplishing very little along the way aside from spinning her wheels as to what a jerk Mittlewerk is.

I think we established that in Act 1.

The next couple of weeks really should build up to something eventful, which I'm hoping all this is pretty much a cover for. "Watch this dorky girl dodder her way around Europe while we work on new content!"

We'll see, I guess Neutral

That may be true, but I sincerely hope that we don't have to wait a month and a half before we have a task at hand to finish :\

Apologies for the meta comments, but this is what's ticking me off about TLE. I love it, but when Rachel's mp3 is tagged as belonging to "DJ Dan", our first response is "The PMs messed up encoding it", not "Maybe Rachel is Tanya", "Maybe she stole DJ Dan's laptop" or exploring some other DJ Dan-Rachel connection.

I'm wondering if we're at the point now where if they did whip out a subtle, clever ARG with clues like innocuous MP3 tags being wrong, we'd be too busy accusing the PMs of messing things up to actually follow said subtle clues Sad

That's the main thing that I hate about this game. There's no way to distinguish between what's an error on the part of TPTB and what's a clue.
