[UPDATE] stophanso.rachelblake.com - Copenhagen Post 05
Quote:
Sometimes you just have to roll the dice and do something, well... incredibly stupid.
Let's hope it wasn't for nothing.
To ensure this is seen, and with the help of mel0drama (see Post 01), I have hidden this VIDEO somewhere on the web...
Edit - add VIDEO link

The video has been found through a great joint effort in the unfiction chat room:
Following Rachel's link to 43things.com, we quickly found a user named RBlake, who had 43 goals:
http://www.43things.com/person/RBlake
It was noticed that goals 4 8 15 16 23 and 42 all contain just one word:
truth safe reckon copenhagen alvar sumo
Also, goal 43 is "Have a refreshing beverage"
This led us to sublymonal.com, where we entered "truth safe reckon copenhagen alvar sumo"
This silenced sublymonal and opened up a second login box
DanteIL noticed that at the end of her blog conversation with Mel0drama, Rachel said: "Me: Cool. Gotta go. I've got 43 things to do to stop their "better tomorrow""
Entering "better tomorrow" takes us to
http://www.sublymonal.com/_hidden/
Look in folder 48 for the video

Folks. Seriously.
You go.
EDIT, added:
End of her video: "May the Force be with you."
DSLerator to Matt_the_pale: "DSLerator (7:07:50 PM): use the force Pale"
Heh.
Also, notice directory 108? When you click on it, it takes you not to _Hidden/108, but _Hidden/Music

Okay it's not clear whether she means for us to identify this island from the shape or whether our next 'task' lies elsewhere. This whole island thing has the potential to be too TV-spoilery, but whatever..
In any event, in case it is the right thing to do, the blip she shows at the end doesn't reveal all that much of the island, so I tried to capture a moment from earlier in the vid that shows more. Here's what I got. If anyone else can do better, that'd be great. (Note: the other map (and her guidebook?) might be a good clue as well).

Right at the beginning of a video, there are two beeps, a muffled, distorted voice (that might be saying "I told her") and then four more beeps.
This all happens very quickly over the black screen. Probably irrelevant, but worth a mention.
edit: oh, and I forgot to say, congrats unFic chatters on the solve!

End of season 2 Lost spoler:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the Pearl video, Marvin Candle mentioned a "Pala ferry." This seems to imply that there is another island nearby Craphole Island, named Pala. Could it be that small one on the map?

Ok lets take a very deep breath.
**breath**
Look there are many many many islands in the world, im pretty sure we would not be shown THE Island to find right now. Lets find out what island this is first before jumping to conclusions.

nice little tool... ...that assembles google map tiles. Useful for finding the island in the video.
With this you can scan larger areas more quickly.

edit: actually, after fooling around a bit, it probably won't be very useful since Google lacks images for most of the world. Still a cool little tool though.

Honestly, I'm willing to bet that we get a tip or something from the comments, whenever the scripted conversation comes along.

The second HTML page is the start of the proof referenced in mel0drama's rant in the first blog post. What does Dr. Hackett have to do with Hanso, though? We have to assume this evidence against Hackett will somehow intertwine with the Hanso Foundation at some point.
*Editted to better reflect what I was trying to get across. Nothin' interesting.
EDIT2: Also, total congrats to #lostexp for pulling out the solve, and kudos to DanteIL for the honors. Hopefully Unfiction benefits too, a little more Lost Experience recognition from hereon out.

That one seems pretty obvious, I dunno. Still, what exactly it has to do with this remains to be seen.
(EDIT: corrected a spelling mistake and added emphasis)
EDIT: Ask and you shall recieve... Gidgetgirl and Rachel Blake are at it again at 8:46 p.m. EST.

This is what Rachel now has to say about Mittlewerk's maps:
Now, I know it looks like just a piece of coastline. But I saw a LOT more than my camera did. I'm pretty sure those maps were all of the same place - and, it was an island. Looked to me like it was near the equator. If you can, help me identify it. This could be the key to unravelling Mittelwerk's plan.
Gee, that narrows it down. Island near the equator.. hrm.
