 		a new character has come out, someone on the scapegoat forum got this e-mail, i'd e-mail her myself but i've got to get ready for work. if nobodies sent her anythign or gotten a reply by the time i get back (7ish eastern u.s. time) i'll drop her a line myself.

I'm from Scapegoat, a cult-company set up in he late 1990s. They believe
that the universe is represented as DATA, a huge computer programme.

Earlier this year, Scapegoat created a virus which was contained in the
Scapegoat sysyem. The Scapegoat Infection was a experiment-gone-wrong. It
infected an employee. Scapegoat were forced to close down.

A.L.A.N was set up in the 90s. The group are responsible for protecting the
internet from viruses, just like the Scapegoat virus. They stopped the virus
in March, but people were still becoming infected. The answer is Error
2555266. This error stayed with the Scapegoat system.

Error 255266 is virtual, but can infect living organisms. Nearly 1,000
people have been infected now. They vanish and never return, nobody knows
where or why. Mr Anderson was head of A.L.A.N and conducted the virus
earlier this year. He is gone, and somehow he has hacked into the system and
left clues on the Scapegoat website. But now it has stopped. I fear he is
dead.

Now I have the virus, and probably you do too. Beware of Error 2555266.

Now it is up to you to stop the virus. Perhaps visiting A.L.A.N s website
will give some clues.

 		theres a link on the new main page, (click the button that says scapegoat the expariment or something like that). all it shows is something in a odd language i don't recognize and an image of an airplane with some almost scambled looking tect.

 		Has anyone tried working with the picture in the latest Scapegoat page?
Equus is horse in Latin. (If that is what the word says...)
I tried combining horsefly (horse+plane) into the URL, also tried it backwards, since the quote there is stated backwards as well.
Tried manipulating the picture, but I'm afraid I'm not so good at that....

 		A couple thoughts...

1) Does anyone know what type of plane that is? That could help us with the illegible text.

2) Is anyone else thinking that this puzzle is vastly different (in both quality and relevence) from what we had been seeing? I mean, we were last given a mission to find the data that was lost as a result of the 255526 error. Then we received hints that the next thing we had to do was sour the net and find the A.L.A.N. website... only to receive an announcement that that was just a trial and here's the real start.

Are we supposed to forget about what we had been doing?


(Also I know people had been emailing Alan Anderson to probe about this missing data. A lot of the emails was asking what sort of data...

It just occured to me that if the A.L.A.N. company believed the universe to be a computer and everything in it data, then the "missing data" we're supposed to find is the people who have vanished.

Don't know if anyone has explicitly said this already. If so, sorry for the repeat speculation).
