[Behold Revelation] Someone dropped this at Chronosis...

Hey everyone, someone dropped this trailhead off at Chronosis (obviously the PM as he can't really explain how he found this site and just registered on our boards) and thought if anyone wanted to take a look at it, here it is.

http://beholdrevelation.bravehost.com/index.html

The original post can be found at Chronosis here:

Enjoy, to those who play.

Hm, could be interesting and it's definitely an ARG. Writing's not bad (allowing for an eror or two) and the scenario reminds me a lot of that game Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the States)

Next question, do I actually jump in and AIM this guy...

EDIT: Ok, Added TheQuietLullaby to AIM, will see what happens when he pops online.

looks interesting.

AIM? yup I reckon that's maybe the way, I've tried numerous addies based on the @ but all failed.

EDIT> don't miss the archives.

yeah....so im hooked. Im currently playing Studio Cypher (awesome, everyone should at least check it out), but right now i finished training and thats all you can do now, so i am just waiting. This sounds VERY good though. Im going to be a follower of this one for sure. Bad news, though. I have no AIM (or any instant messager for that matter) that i can try and contact him on. Ahh well. If yall could keep me updated if you contact this dude/ette, let me know with a post or a PM or what not. Anyhoo.....Make Good Choices!! Shocked

I added thequietlullaby to my contact list (yep, this looks super interesting) and haven't seen 'the prophet' online at all... I was also wondering if maybe posting in the forum just a simple 'what do you need from us' kind of thing would get us a repsonse. He does say:

Quote:
You have no choices as of yet. You are MY audience. Thusly, I suggest you sit back, relax for the time being, and calculate the information I am going to provide you with. What I am giving you... Is already a crucial part of this enigma, this puzzle.

But then continues with:

Quote:
Do what you feel is NECESSARY in order to keep tabs on what to do. Record what you feel is important, draw up theories, whatever you feel will help you along to the end of this little game. I am merely here to light the way or darken your path. You choose which way you think is more approriate.

Thoughts?

I checked out Studio Cypher but at the moment I'm unconvinced by the Pay-to-Play aspect so I'll see how it goes. Other than that I've been playing PerplexCity for over a year now and was really looking to get back into a more typical sort of ARG. This one could well be it.

As for the IM part, well aside from the obvious solution of getting AIM (first time for everything and not a bad excuse Wink ) I'm sure anything that happens will be posted up in te topic for perusal and endless discussion Smile

I like trillian myself - you get AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, and MSN options and can add buddies from any of them. It's a free download Very Happy
(and yes, I'm sure if ANYTHING HAPPENS, there will be a lot of speculation, as usual!!)

Well, he's on...

right:

Quote:
bratsampson: hello there
TheQuietLullaby: Hello.
TheQuietLullaby: Who might I be speaking with?
bratsampson: I managed to solve your first task and would like to say I am looking forward to when the game will begin
bratsampson: I was sent to your site from a link
TheQuietLullaby: The game has already started, my friend.
bratsampson: ah, then I too wish to play
TheQuietLullaby: Congratulations. Welcome to the fold.
TheQuietLullaby: So funny. How many people will gather to save the lives of others. Is that why you joined? To save the life of an innocent? *snickers*
bratsampson: I got the impression the lives of far more than one innocent were at stake
TheQuietLullaby: Oh, I do have a smart one, don't I? *smiles*
bratsampson: well, a reader, at least.
TheQuietLullaby: Well, that is indeed, correct.
TheQuietLullaby: You seem much more intelligent and well-mannered then the others in your group. The other Fold members were quite rude.
TheQuietLullaby: So blunt, really.
bratsampson: I don't know much of them
TheQuietLullaby: You'll all come to meet in due time.
bratsampson: so, is there any further information you want to share on the game at this point?
TheQuietLullaby: As of this point in time, not yet. But I would hope that you all have your research abilities in check. I have already distributed the information to your other comrades. I might aswell, shed some light on your path.
bratsampson: I found your site only today
TheQuietLullaby: Hm?
bratsampson: I have read what is there, about the...unpleasentness
TheQuietLullaby: Well, I only say this.
TheQuietLullaby: Be wary... Not to be marked by The Beast.
bratsampson: hmm, enigmatic
bratsampson: was there to be a riddle?
TheQuietLullaby: I would hope that you figure it out.
TheQuietLullaby: But then again, that isn't my job now, is it?
bratsampson: very true
bratsampson: this is a test then...
TheQuietLullaby: In a sense, yes.
bratsampson: has the riddle been provided?
TheQuietLullaby: I suggest you read through the site. You will... Find something of interest.
bratsampson: hmm, I have read through your cryptic messages, the account apparently of the murderer and the news report later. TheQuietLullaby: Indeed.
TheQuietLullaby: Everything will make sense in due time, I assure you. But that is, if you keep your information accordingly.
TheQuietLullaby: I'm sorry that our time has been short together.
bratsampson: never mind
bratsampson: I'm sure we wil speak again
TheQuietLullaby: Indeed, we shall.

In short: I think we're missing something.

Yay for AIM conversations...

ChronosisBrennan: Good morning, dear.
TheQuietLullaby: Hello.
ChronosisBrennan: I'm here because of a game.
TheQuietLullaby: Oh really?
TheQuietLullaby: What can I do you for? *smiles*

ChronosisBrennan: Well, apparently my first task is to come and see you.
TheQuietLullaby: That, you have done.
TheQuietLullaby: Congratulations. Welcome to the Fold.

ChronosisBrennan: Thank you.
ChronosisBrennan: So, what exactly am I getting myself into?
TheQuietLullaby: Well, by contacting me... You have accepted the terms, the game. Thusly, you have already begun to bear your burden. The weight of many innocent lives depend on your decisions.
ChronosisBrennan: Ah, I see. That is quite a burden.
ChronosisBrennan: And what decisions will I be making?
ChronosisBrennan: Because, according to you, your actions and words are law. How can I change that?
TheQuietLullaby: I will provide you with the choices. You merely choose which you think is best.
ChronosisBrennan: All right. Well then, I will do my best.
ChronosisBrennan: Do you have a decision for me to make as of now?
TheQuietLullaby: You will meet your comrades. Other members of the Fold in due time. Though, I provide you only with this at the moment, a little unknown something to shed light upon your path.
TheQuietLullaby: Be wary. Watch to not be marked by The Beast.

ChronosisBrennan: Ok. I'll avoid Elan Lee then.
ChronosisBrennan: I can do that pretty easily.
ChronosisBrennan: I'm afraid my time is short. Is there anything else I must know?
TheQuietLullaby: No, that is all for now.
ChronosisBrennan: All right then. Good day, my dear.
TheQuietLullaby: I wish you luck on your journey.
TheQuietLullaby: Ciao.

EDIT: The more I read this stuff, the more I just keep smelling Indigo Prophecy, AKA Fahrenheit. Already we have:

1. Cuts on the arms.
2. Random dead woman whom the supposed killer has no recollection of killing.
3. "Tut, tut. Now... Time for the weather... This horrible cold front! Ya'll better wear some heavy cloth...-" Mmm... weird cold fronts...

All three of which were main features in Indigo Prophecy.

Besides the obvious, here is something else I have found about "The Beast".

http://www3.telus.net/thegoodnews/beasty.htm

Quote:
The Beast's Mysterious Mark

Scarcely any prophetic subject has elicited more conjecture and speculation than the "mark of the Beast." In addition to a "mark,"Revelation 13 also mentions an "image" of the Beast as well as the mysterious "number of his name"—666. What is the significance of these mysterious symbols?

I was trying to do this at work, so it was kind of sporatic.... but here's what I got from 'The Prophet', or 'Provider' or whatever he wants to be called - it's not much...
[10:49] HCon1125: I have been reading your website
[10:50] TheQuietLullaby: Oh, I see.
[10:50] TheQuietLullaby: Who am I speaking with?
[10:50] HCon1125: AngBa, hello Prophet.
[10:51] HCon1125: I have completed your 'first task'
[10:51] TheQuietLullaby: So you have.
[10:51] TheQuietLullaby: Welcome to the Fold.
[10:51] HCon1125: thank you... what is the next step?
[10:53] TheQuietLullaby: Well, by contacting me. You have accepted everything I have proposed to you. Ergo, you already bear a burden. The weight of many innocent lives already weigh themselves upon your shoulders.
[10:53] HCon1125: I have accepted, can you tell me why so many lives are at stake?
[10:54] TheQuietLullaby: Oh, that would spoil the game.
[10:55] HCon1125: So, what am I supposed to do in order to help protect the innocent?
[10:55] TheQuietLullaby: Make the correct choices.
[10:55] HCon1125: I need to know what direction, or what the next step is, in order to make the correct choices
[10:57] TheQuietLullaby: I provide you with only this.
[10:58] HCon1125: Can you tell me how many others are in The Fold?
[10:59] TheQuietLullaby: A good handful, almost a dozen.
[11:01] TheQuietLullaby: You will all meet in time, I assure you.
[11:01] HCon1125: I like to know who I'm working with.
[11:03] TheQuietLullaby: Very demanding, I see. *smirks*
[11:06] TheQuietLullaby: Well, as I have stated. You are at the begining of the road, alone and scattered from your friends. I will unite you all in due time.
[11:07] TheQuietLullaby: I'm sorry our time was short together.
[11:08] TheQuietLullaby: I must be off. Things to do, places to be, people to see. All for what would be your benefit.
[11:08] TheQuietLullaby: Til' next time.
[11:08] TheQuietLullaby: Ciao.

Right so we have very Fahrenheit-y tones, the 'Mark of the Beast' to watch out for, a riddle to a) find and b) work out and a highly mysterious Oracle/Prophet/all-knowing thingamajig to guide our steady hands.

Lets get cracking Very Happy

Bah, i am just waiting for TheQuietLullaby to appear online.
But yeah, if this isn't for Farenheit 2, then they really have pinched a fair amount of the story. Still, I did love the game, so I don't mind.
