Versions of Portuguese are spoken in several countries, and the accents of the men in the station are absolutely Brazilian, specifically from the region of São Paulo. People may speak Portuguese in Argentina, but it's not the major language by any stretch, and the accent is very different.

For example, Sayid speaks Arabic in the first season for a small bit and the Arabic he speaks is not Iraqi (or Gulf) Arabic. Wild speculation started. So the producers did it right in his second season flashback and had all the Arabic dubbed with the Gulf/Iraqi dialect.

I bet they would think twice before mixing something like that up again, and so I think if they meant for those men to be from Argentina, the producers would have had them speaking Argentinian Spanish, which is distinct.

So my money says that the men in the station were Brazilian, and these photos, if they are relevent, are unconnected.

Sorry for the hideously long spoiler tag, but if I hadn't seen the season finale yet I wouldn't have wanted to read any of that. Better safe, right?
