You are missing the first symbol alex Wink

and redtek: If people hadn't been doubting and suggesting we were leading people up the garden path, there would have been no reason to disprove them Sad

I never intended to give the solution, just hints to lead people in the right direction.

I don't see where the hex comes into it either, but someone one this thread does, as they said it was a 'kloo', so perhaps they would enlighten us?

I got:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1 8 1 8 (14) 6 5 1 8 (23), where the () represents the N/E/W/S heading.

However, where does the "hex" come into play?

[spoiled] 14 in hex = E, not W, and 23 doesnt translate into a letter. I know the numbers represent the letter location on the alphabet, why the term Hex? [/spoiler]

Hi The Swede

I just read Hexed as a hint to do a letter replacement, not a direct instruction to convert to hexadecimal. I see your point though.

hex

Yes that hex word threw me off track as I was using my hexadecimal convertor and making nonsence of the sequences. my hat goes off on this one to the clever people.Well done This is the first that had me crawling on my hands and knees. I would have been another day or more counting the blessed diffferent characters on the wall looking for the sequences. Again the clue has followed true to form except for that word. The puzzle originator also deserves a round of applause. this gets more fun

You know when someone puts the hex on you, well that's the symbol you have to look for...if it was for a James Bond movie I would know what it was...close your hand and put your 2nd & 5th finger out and hold the 3rd & 4th fingers down with your thumb. Look for this sign

Mr. P thank you very much for the help and cords but how do you possibly get those numbers.... i have read all the posts on just counting the "like symbols" but where did you start and how do you know which order you put them in. I movedon past this point but i would still like to know how it was done....please let me know...until this puzle, i have been able to get the cords fairly easily without help, but this one threw me off.

For volvo:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Basically you look at the pattern of the faces which are in the first 18 columns. This pattern is then duplicated in the next 13 rows (this is where the screen ends).

When you look at this pattern, you can very quickly see that there are a number of heads/faces (call them what you like) that are 'grouped' together.

I basically just drew lines through each of the corresponding groups (to try and figure out a pattern) and very quickly noticed that they stretched across the majority of the page. Some of the groups were split using a single character with an upturned nose/snout. It wasn't until I had counted the groups that I realised I was shy of at least 3 numbers, and that there were 3 individual characters that had the upturned nose. Writing the numbers in sequence from left to right gave me the 10 numbers and the 14 and 23 jumped out at me immediately (only double digits and in the right places for the letters).

Hope that helps

Is any one in the US having problems in getting past 13%?
