gives nothing. If RUN is placed in r4c4 then you get "Runtime Error: Timeout in Folder". Anywhere else, and you get "Completion Error: Invalid Command Grid".

The execution of that is:

zone, zone, zone, mount, copy, popen....

THEN - it actually heads south, rather than the usual east for popen. hence, if you put a rotate and a cache below that, it'll execute, and get the laser result.

I'm still thinking there's an element of brute force expected here...?

Very nice!

i and e suggest to me it'll "forget" about prior commands as long as you get the proper commands it needs in there (zone and mount). One of my working combos I put pread twice for positioning purposes, and I imagine the second pread just aborted the first one from doing anything.

You'll get one of the different messages if you put a 'switch' in there. You have one in d but I think it gets 'forgotten' about because you don't have zone-mount until after.

EDIT: Just added config #13. Oh, and SteveC has it correct on your program -- I should be specific and say "run can go anywhere except in your program itself". That's another way to check where your program is going (other than End).

Following speculation in #syzygy, I tried a "complete" grid:

ZO ZO MO PW CO
SW PR ZO RO FL
SW PR RO ZO ZO
CO PR RU CA ZO
PO PW PO PW RO

This gave the Config 12 one "Noise Control"

Including an END (irrelevant to the program, but I wanted a grid which used all the commands)

ZO ZO MO PW CO
SW PR ZO RO FL
SW PR RO ZO ZO
CO PR RU EN CA
PO PW PO PW RO

gave the Mansoor minute about Sente's interference.

Looking at this minute more closely as a result, I wonder if we should be trying to find out who 55321801 is. Mansoor refers to the two of them being the "proper channels".

A few of us discussed in #syzygy..we think 55321801 is a key number, which obviously relates to a person. SoulsProximity emailed Caine and Kurt about it, they'll be able to tell us who it is Wink

I should have asked people first, I guess, but I also emailed Caine to see if he knows anything about that number Razz

This is what I am deducing but please feel free to correct me...

If you get a Timeout error, you need to add a Rotate or a Zone somewhere.

If you get Access Denied, add a Cache

File Handle Not Available - Requires a POpen

I'm running through loads of different permutations and I'm not getting anything else yet. Anyone else doing the same? I'll keep plugging away until we get a response.

A

I dunno - I'm thinking a student number.

Or that of an ex-student, because student numbers don't get recycled.

I've got this result another way, but I've only written this one down, and can't remember the other one-

Z M - - -/Ro Pr Z Pw Pr/Pw F - Ca Ro/M Z Pw S Ro/-Pw Ro - Ro

You can put run anywhere else

It gives a blank screen as far as I can tell.

As does

Z M Ca Pr Z/- - P Co Ro/- - - Ro -/

So far I'm experimenting with trying to put the CACHE in different locations on the grid, in the hopes that it gives different files. It seems not to really be a function of that, but I'm not sure what else to do beyond varying the location and number of ROTATE commands. I suppose I could fiddle with ZONE commands or something...

As jdb told me in #syzygy, it seems not to work unless there is at least one ROTATE in the command grid...

I don't think it would be anything non-communication related. My first instinct was "Phone number!" since it could have been a (long) SMS message.

Yet another wiki add.
http://perplexcitywiki.com/wiki/Backdoor#Config_14:_Magnet_current_regulators

Definitely seems like if you have something that works, changing the number of switches right before the rotate-cache (or whatever you happen to be ending with) is the most productive.

With things like "Noise Control system" being mentioned is sounds like that whatever is being made/used in the crypto dept is loud and needs to be muffled in some way.

Why can't I get it out of my head that all these measurement devices are so they can make a copy of the cube? Are we sure the one on Earth is the original?
