As for as it being the phantom yes that would really be disapointing and a waste. Its only that way because we already hate the product anyway.

But what if it was some totally really awsome product. That would be ace, and this would all be worth it.


When I was setting up to run my VtM campaign years ago I was going to do a site a site like this to give my players interest and suspense. *shrug*

 		I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but some of the red dots on the map, mostly in Siberia are not the sites of major cities. Specifically the one on the Kamchatskaya peninsula is nowere near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy and the other dot in the Severo-Sibirskaya Nizmennost' region is not within 500 miles of a major (I use the word lightly) city. I find some of the dot placements odd, due to the fact the amound of people who use the internet in those regions is probably relativly low (there aren't even any roads going into Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy). I guess it could be issues with the geolocation software not being accurate, but i find it hard to belive there are many people coming to that site from those regions, everytime i have looked so far there seems to be dots in those regions. Also tracing the website through whois, its a server hosted by theplanet.com, and it is the only website hosted on that ip, eon8.org, eon8.net, and eon8.com. They are on there own server, which is also somthing to consider. Just thought I would throw it out there, it will be interesting what it is.

Well, read the discussion of ARGs and marketing that I linked -- they have been quite effective in the past.

 		well I found this forum when I got curious, wondering what the eon8 is, and basically all I've learned is that the whole "cyber terrorism" thing worked up by the YTMND is as likely as it being an advertisement campaign, or even a site that is giving free cookies to the people that live in the areas with dots on the map.

So basically, through all of my searching I've found NOTHING! And if this isi an advertisement for a crappy console I will be dissapointed yet glad. Glad that it's not something apocolyptic, but dissapointed that it's not free cookies Crying or Very sad
