[PFF E-MAIL] Email from Lane@studiocypher

I sent an email off when Lane was first introduced as our new contact. I got a reply from him today

Quote:

Ayup. It's right civil for you to introduce yourself. I hope I can be of
good service to you, if any of those ghosts should turn bad on you. If
they haven't already, that is.

Lane

Re: [PFF E-MAIL] Email from Lane@studiocypher

Heh. That's amusing. I did the same.

[quote]Ayup, a few have contacted me. It's right civil of you all to do so. That
little runt Kevin has never had it in him to be civil. He must not have
been raised by decent folks.

I'll tell you what I've told the other Wakeful Agents who: you be careful.
Them ghosts might be all smiles, but most are no better than rabid dogs
and should be put down. The Cypher railroad helps all kinds, I am told,
but I don't think it should be helping rabid dogs, no sir.

Please keep me posted. I don't get along well with these newfangled
"digital" contraptions. I don't see why they're any better than a good old
fashioned newspaper, or that telegraph they had going for a spell. No sir,
I don't see it.

Lane

I got my reply today as well! Smile

Hey there Lane... I figured I'd introduce myself since Kevin's seemingly left us in your capable hands. I'm Charlana, otherwise known as mizemotional on the Cypher forum. I'm just wondering... has Kevin showed you the Perfect Friends Forever site? What do you think of it? I think it's.... interesting at best.

Anyway, I'll quit rambling. Hope your 4th was great and have a great day!

Ayup, I've taken a look at it. I'm not sure that I approve of it. Ghosts
are wild and untamed, like a pack of dogs that look nice from behind,
until they turn and you see they have all gone rabid. You can help some,
but most you'd better just take a gun to. You'd better be careful, miss.
Them ghosts have secrets, and aren't looking out for you as much as they
say. I'd bet my hat on that.

Lane

Wait, we can win Lane's hat? SCORE!

Kidding aside, I've half a mind to tell KH to take a gun or a sword... Possibly a proton accelerator...

Lane's a bit biased against ghosts, but yie...

Kevin's put together?

Do you think it's on the up and up? I guess there's two questions.
Are there real ghosts involved? And if there are, is that a good idea?

Lane replied (in part):
Quote:
I can't say I've given that site much of a look yet. Ghosts are my
specialty, but "websites" aren't. But, since you asked, I figured that I
should give it a once over.

I recon that her claims of roping ghosts into telling the future could be
true. Them that's passed on to the other side know more than they'll tell.
They are sly beasts, and you have to be careful how far you trust them.
Departed spirits usually want something, and it's a rare day when all they
want is to be helpful. I hope that girl has a way to tell which ones are
trustworthy

I must have missed Lane being introduced. Can you guys post a quick summary of how that happened?

Thanks. Smile

If you go through the training materials at the Studio Cypher site (you don't have to be a Wakeful Agent to do so), you will find some mentions of Lane and his ghost-hunting ways.

In the first story (Out in the Cold), Kevin's superiors ordered him to stop looking around for Charles Lehner. However, Sue Terrini was already looking for him, and we thought she was in danger from hostile ghosts. So Kevin tricked Lane into going with her for protection.

In the e-mail that kicked off the Perfect Friends Forever story, Kevin mentioned that he would be unavailable, but was leaving Lane as our contact, since he's got experience with ghosts.

email from lane

Quote:

That's right civil of you. I wouldn't worry about going slow. I reckon
that it's often the guy in the back who sees what other miss.

Watch out for them there ghosts. None of 'em are trustworthy. I figure
the good folks pass on like normal, since I've never seen a good ghost
yet.

Stay watchful!
Lane

Hey Lane,
