We were working off the Japanese site...which, by the way, has a different password in this case than the UK site. They are a day ahead of us, so it turns active at about 4 pm California time the DAY BEFORE the US site goes up. The US site goes active at 8 am Eastern, 5 am here in California.

The first three are SINGLE STRIKES, but they do not necessarily equal the number 1. You need to look closer. You also need to TIME the thunder claps. The number of seconds in the delay is the position of the number in the string of coords.

Hope that helps.

Wink

* e_nygma snarls at his computer screen due to a stupid mistake, causing him to waste an hour

Okay a few tips.

Having problems counting? Slow your processor down with some heavy duty computing. Might I suggest http://www.13thlabour.tk/ (direct to download page). Is this a shameless plug? Most definitely. However, you can help us solve a very tricky puzzle (break a RC-64 cipher ... a pretty heavy duty encryption cipher). No, this is not for hacking a website or breaking into some governmental system. I promise this is a part of another game (Perplex City ... if you are curious http://www.perplexcity.com will explain it better than I can here). If you want to read up on this puzzle, go here or here.

NOTE: Reading all of the messages will take A LONG TIME (there are over 1000 posts on this single card).

If you do use the Thirteenth Labour client, open the config.txt file and change the number on the second line to something on the order of 100000 or 150000. After that, double-click the Labour13.exe file. On the first pass, it will ask for an email address and name. This is only to contact you in case your computer actually comes up with the solution. If it does, there is a pretty big prize chest coming your way. Your email address will not be given out.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
After done counting, STOP running the CPU eater so you can get the timing right. If you are using 13th Labour, don't forget to start it again when you are done with Isla Culebra! Smile

You might want to change the number in the config.txt file down a bit, if your system is having trouble running smoothly. 10 is the lowest throttle setting, 200000 is run full tilt to the detriment of everything else (not suggested), 0 is run as fast as possible. So, if you want to use this but don't want to really chomp on numbers, putting it 50000 or below probably would be where you want to be.

If you are still having trouble, take screenshots as others have suggested. You'll find getting the images right is easier if your CPU is very busy.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
When counting, two things:

1. Count the parts that are adjacent to edges. ALL edges (or make the same mistake as I did).
2. Even though it may not look adjacent to an edge of the image, it is. If it's heading towards an edge, treat it as if it touches an edge.

Hey again guys
Im on the english site but cannot for the life of me figure out a keyword

Pick two pin's ends on top of a peak
The red rock south is the first we seek
Turn your key into a clock
Add second letters of every rock.

Im thinking use Crow Peak as it is the only peak with a Red Rock south

Any help would be appreciated

Apparently, they're getting a tad bit sneakier in making the entry passwords different for the different sites.

Am I right in thinking that the sequence of lightning bolts changes.

If so, I'm having trouble timing the thunder and associating them times to the relevant lightning bolt.

Frank....thunder occurs AFTER lightning, since light travels faster than sound. Count the delay.

Note on keywords:

The Japanese site's word is the Mayan proper name of the UK site's descriptive phrase. A few more hours and we'll see what they use for the US!

I got it - not revealing the co-ords just yet, but here are some major clues

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
get a clock or download a stopwatch onto you computer - time how long between lightning and thunder. start as soon as lightning appears. you should get a unique number in seconds from 1 to 10. this is the order the co-ordinates go in.

need more?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
count the number of spikes on the lightning - this will be a co-ordinate number

yes, but what about the letters

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
ah!, well pay careful attention to the shape the lightning makes for your position 5 and 10...notice anything?

I got it too.....

It's quite easy once you get into the swing of counting the time it takes the thunder to come in after each lightning strike.

Plus those single strikes are numbers and letters - crafty.

See you all on the 12th. I'm loving this game and don't want it to stop.

Whoever wins (which won't be me cos I'm a bit fick) have fun with your new car!

Three cheers to Volvo for testing my brain power for the last few weeks!!!
