Who is Dale Sprague?
People say he's crazy, but I haven't made up my mind about him yet. You can sometimes find him at http://www.synthasia.com or at http://www.aglauranj.org

Who is Wes Keeler?
Author, investigator, instigator. He wrote "Devil in the Backyard" and supposedly was working on a new book tentaively titled "Secrets You Cannot Know".

What is Digitalis?
Digitalis is a cardio-active drug which has the ability to exert a specific, powerful action on the cardiac muscle. The active ingredient was purple foxglove, digitalis purpurea. Digitalis was used as both a poison and a remedy in the Dark Ages.

What is Ash Grove Park?
Do you mean Castle Ash Grove? Castle Ash Grove is an ancient Elfin realm in a hidden spot in Wales. The castles inhabitants can supposedly make it vanish and reappear. According to Sylvia Townsend Warner, the Queen of the Castle is always called Morgan

Who are The Numbered Ones?
Which numbers? 3? 6? 9? 7? or 0? Oh, I missed a few didn't I? May be a dead issue

What is the Mythosphere?
http://www.mythosphere.org

What is Synthasia?
A website design company in New Jersey. http://www.synthasia.com

What is Aglaura?
A town in a novel by Italo Calvino called "Le citta invisibili" with very unusual properties.

What is the Hollow Needle?
A cave in France that Maurice Leblanc claims is the secret hideaway of the famous thief Arsene Lupin. It has become a treasure trove of rare art, jewelry, and other valuables.

Who is Diana?
Roman goddess of the hunt. Greeks referred to her as Artemis. She is also the goddess of the moon, forests, animals and women in childbirth. She is praised for her strength, athletic grace, beauty and hunting skills

Who was Trithemius?
A fakir, shaker, and manuscript maker. Some think he was one of the Nine. A traveller between worlds, he left a guide for others to follow.

Who is The Wish?
Still compiling data. Logical inconsistencies. No conclusion currently possible.

What is Ongs Hat? (no apostrophe)
A town in New Jersey that doesn't exist. Did it ever? The data is contradictory. No conclusion currently possible.

What is CAROL?
Computerized Answer Retrieval OnLine

Putting in something that isnt in CAROL's system yields one of these responses:
Quote:
When you read a myth, it carries you forward and takes you into what I would call the spiritual life. You won't end up against the wrong wall if you follow your dreams as the signs of where your bliss is properly located.

Within the act of creation resides, the path to truth and what lies beyond in understanding, see and become that in which we believe

Let us not make random judgements on the greatest of things

Perhaps a question for a question? What is tall as a house, as round as a cup, and all the kings horses can't draw it up?

You cannot attain the peace of balance without the knowledge of what lies upon either side of the scale

I don't think you understand.

When you meet anything that's going to be Human and isn't yet, or used to be Human and isn't now, or ought to be Human but isn't, you keep your eyes on it and feel for your hatchet

A new domain of physical expansion - that is what we lack. It is staring us in the face if we would only raise our heads and look at it.

The beginning of wisdom is to unlearn that which is nought

Science and religion are as the two wings of a bird. The bird is mankind which cannot fly on one wing alone.

GrumpyBoy suggested that the answer to this riddle was "a well," but CAROL doesn't seem to like that.

This is from an infocom page:

Zork II

What is as tall as a house
And round as a cup
And all the king's horses
Can't draw it up?

A Well

Brings back memories, remember being stuck on that years ago so 'a well' is the correct answer - I doubt it means anything tho', just a riddle thrown in, like Carol says just answering a question with a question, probably no real importance.

Doesn't recognize the rest of Keeler's reading list, not even
Italo Calvino. Direct stimulus/response.

Carol responses

I think the answer to the riddle Carol poses is An Egg (it is a house for a chick, when cooked and the top taken off it becomes like a cup, and all the kings horses couldn't pull Humpty Dumpty up

All the responses I got to various questions cycled through the following in a completely random order:

Within the act of creation resides, the path to truth and what lies beyond in understanding, see and become that in which we believe

Let us not make random judgements on the greatest of things

The beginning of wisdom is to unlearn that which is nought

When you meet anything that's going to be Human and isn't yet, or used to be Human and isn't now, or ought to be Human but isn't, you keep your eyes on it and feel for your hatchet

Hmmm... that book keeps turning up doesn't it?
Add a note Beersheba was also mentioned in the same novel.

Hey all

Something I was thinking and forgive me if this has already been mentioned.... I know that the mythosphere puzzle answers were believed to be used.. I wonder when we answered the mythosphere guides questions to what you have learmed so far, if the answers were put into
the Carol Project. I wonder if we could add to the answers by emailing the guides more information. Question Exclamation
