Progress of CTW2

Curious how everyone views the progress of CTW2? It's been discussed in chat on several occasions, but not everyone uses chat. Here's your chance to voice your opinion. Please feel free to comment after you vote.

Just want to say that it might be slow because we're missing something. That crucial step needed to trigger...whatever.

If that's true then we need a push.

Basically I feel like I am just an observer in this game. Its just a story unfolding through our correspondance with the characters but there isn't anything to do really. No puzzles to speak of, we can't hack Marzent's intranet (that's really disappointing to me), no live AIM chats with characters. We're kept in the dark about so many things and we don't seem to have any influence on the story. I'm disappointed. But I'll keep hoping.

They're building a very robust world for us to explore and I'm trusting the PM's to have plenty for us to do once we've reached some (to us) unknown milestone. Character interactions are a little frustrating. I think there's a presumption we won't share critical information, so it's to be given out only through the primary outlets, which makes interactions more of a chore than following "the scent of information", to quote Jared Spool.
Possibly we're waiting for more people to join the game? There aren't a lot of folks signed-up on the AIN as guests, really. Seems we have more characters than players. I just feel like we're still in a holding pattern, of sorts. I suppose it could be that most of the players people use to gauge a game's playworthiness are PM's in this game, though I have no way of knowing that..

EDIT: As for the puzzles: I'm at a point, now where I've stopped looking for them in much as it's mostly a waste of time, so far. I guess I'm saying I'm bored and waiting for someone else to do the finding so I can join the collaboration for the solve, once a puzzle is found.

The flipside of all this is that we've missed most of the relevant clues and the game is on-track, but we're too ignorant/unintelligent to open it up, as was said, earlier..

I said that it was going too fast.

I think this is mainly because there are so many sources to email, to be emailed by, un-answered questions, etc, that I just don't know where to start.

I used to be sending an email to characters every few days. But now I have no idea what to say to any of them, because I don't know whereabouts in their story they are, and don't really know what they already know.

I'm probably just too stupid or unobservant to keep up though.

Jenna, I agree with you. I don't think you're stupid, there's a lot to take in. There's a few people in the game I've never emailed and sometimes I feel like I'm getting a little left behind, but I try not to worry about it too much. I mostly voted "too fast", though, because a family emergency took me out of the game for quite a while and I'm trying to play catchup now. (BTW, I'm back if anyone missed me!)
