I don't know if anyone can duplicate it, but I scanned the page from the comic with the map & printed the 307 symbol from Pixie's stuff & when I overlayed them, with the arrow/cross at main & aglaura drive I got a strange by kinda coherent configuration - with the walmart, houses & 2 of the marzant buildings fitting nicely in the dots - Of course, I had to do it very low tech - cutting out the circles & doing a hand overlay. None of the circles end up in the barrens or off the map.

Here is what I got - may be way off but I tried Smile

Not to be disparaging or anything, but are you sure the scales are right Red?
Looks to me like the other pictures we've put together had a larger 307 ring.

Maybe Pixie (Pixie has the physical pieces, right?) can get us real world measurements of the two pieces given? That should give us some measure of scale between the two to work with...

Yes CK - we are talking about that in chat. I used Pixie's 307 image & scanned the actual page from the comicbook in actual size & this is what I got - It may be way off - I'm still learning

Hehe, well good job. I'm just confused cause I'm seeing all sorts of different scales, both from what's being posted and my own efforts. I think it'd be better if we're all working from the same scales.

Ok, I've been playing around with sizing the 307 key up and down over the map and I think I'm going to agree with CK on this. I can make anything fit or not fit by doing this, in essence just creating what I what to see.

I'd love to know everything's original size, etc and work within those parameters. Meaning, only moving and rotating the 307 page.

Also, why do you think Keith's using a different map from Dale? Nothing majorly different, but still. We'd get slightly different results overlaying the 307 over each.

Sorry if I was unclear - Keith is using a different 307 image than what Dale put in the comic. I can DL all the pics from Pixie & for some reason they all seem to be a bit different in size, so I tried using the map from the comic (where I could actually read the street names) with the image Pixie scanned from the stuff she got from Keith.

That image was huge on the map I dl'd from Pixie, but fit quite nice on the comic's map.

I tried Crying or Very sad

Aw, don't get down on yourself. Any ideas and input from anybody ultimately helps us out. It's rare that anythiing is solved on the first try; instead coming about by all of us trying different things out. We still don't know - you might be on the right trail!

I am the one who has suggested a smaller scale 307 image, to see if we can identify specific buildings (rather than digging around in the bogs).

Also, anyone posting an image, PLEASE reduce the size to <75. When it is >100 it makes the forum too wide (and loads really slow for dialups).
Thanks!

Thanks for your offer! OK so when I look at the symbol on the 3o7 website with the lines and X.... it 'appears' using the sizes of the images from Pixie, that the verticle line is the same length as 2nd St and, if so, using the orientation of map 1 or 2, then overlay not only the symbol that Pixie got but the one from the 3o7 website and size it to match the other.... then it looks like the X on the one from the website would land on what 'could be' an X on the Library.... does that make sense? Sinyx could you mock this up for a looksie?

Like RedHaty I am using PRIMITAVE methods trying to look at this.... all we can do is 'try' and likely someone else will have a Idea moment Wink

Yeah, I think we're not going to make any real headway on this until we get the real world measurements.

On another note, if these are all points that Keith buried the masks at, he must be a really great runner or something. I mean, on the run from the law for one, carrying a box of unknown size and weight, and on the run from the people who gave Brad a "New view on life" so to speak. Granted, he might have done it over a span of a few nights, but he'd have probably done it at night to avoid suspicion. AND, if he was burying them to hide them, why do it next to these various buildings? Wouldn't the occupants get suspicious of freshly turned earth? I'm thinking the locations would be in the woods or MAYBE the bog. The construction site, maybe, but he'd have to either dig deeply, or trust that someone on his side would find whatever before it becomes part of some building's foundation.

Kimer - Are you just asking to see the image from the actual 307 site sized up to Pixie's image's measurements and placed on the map? Right now they are nowhere near in size. Pixie's is about 8.5" x 11" and the website image is 3" x 3.875". Both are 200 dpi though (which I find strange for a web image).

Also, to have the X land on the library, I'd be flopping the image too. Is this what you want to see? I'm guessing the center would be the meeting of Aglaura and Main.

OK, I think I got it. Here's some more maps as per Kimer's suggestions (plus a few more I just threw in). There's still some flopping in one or two of these, which I'm wary about. Plus, a lot of the circles still are outside the town. This may still be reasonable though, considering it's easier to hide things outside of Aglaura proper, and so far a lot of the freakier stuff (Brad, hidden 307 symbols, old houses, movie filming) have actualy taken place in the Pine Barrens.

how's that for a TOOC... but anyway. The reason the images are the sizes they are is thst is what they are. i got two sheets of paper and had the_fiancee scan them, he didn't resize anythig, and they are proportionate to eachother in the same way. if when they scanned they got bigger, then they both got the same amount bigger. i've been struggling with the right way to explain that, i hope i finally got it right.

Looks like it was zipped as a spanned archive (When you need it to fit on more thn one floppy, typically). It'll need to be recomressed with the span flag turned off.

EDIT: I also sent Keith an email asking for more details about what went down out there in the woods. He said in his earlier email that there was a lot more info to share. Let's get him to spill it.

EDIT2: The zip file works now. Thanks, sinyx.
