I for one would love for it to be in Chicago during the summer.

I could get there in under an hour Razz

Yes, I agree with Sark. Please, a west coast argfest, and preferably not during classes. Smile

Chicago would be fine with me. Maybe I'll make it to one of these someday....

We also mentioned maybe a ski weekend in Colorado or somesuch in the winter?

Presently, we have several votes from Festers to hit Vancouver next summer. It's conveniently located for several of us, all Americans love the exchange, and some feel the need to try it outside the US next time around.

I vote for a Chicago one too! Not only did I used to live there and know the attractions, but I'm only a couple hour drive from there now.

I'm liking Vancouver. Not much in Chicago but a toddlin town and a windy city.

Although I don't know much about Vancouver, I know there's alot more than wind in Chicago. Besides the standard tourist attractions like the Science and Industry, Field, and Art museums, there's Navy Pier, the Aquarium, the Planetarium, Second City, Great America, The Bristol Renaissance Faire, etc... The Ren Faire would be my fav attraction although that's only for those of you who like carrying around a turkey leg and pint of beer through crowds of lusty wenches and handsome knights Wink There's the Taste of Chicago also, but that's pretty much a stuff yourself full of overpriced food and get hot and sweaty until you feel sick kind of event.

There's tons of other stuff to do to that isn't so "touristy". There's a bunch of great clubs and things, but I'm a little out of the loop on what's cool and happening these days.

Just a little bit of Chicago background for you to chew on...

Wink

Well...that depends on your definition of 'legal.'

Vancouver's great. Victoria is nice, too, but much quieter.

Well, it's just like it was during ARGFest Las Vegas - we haven't left for home yet and we're already trying to figure out where to get together next!

Me, I'm voting for Vancouver - keeps the west coast folks happy, and let's some of our Canadian friends join us for a change. If that doesn't work, I'd vote for a return to Las Vegas.

Personally, I think that ARGfest cities should be chosen the same way as Olympic cities - you make a proposal, giving the advantages of the city, provide bribes... er, incentives to the selection committee, and wait a few years. And we need more corporate sponsorship! Like getting Nokia to give us all free cell phones for ARGfest, so we can keep in touch better.

Make that a Boxster and you've got a confirmation that I'll be there! Very Happy

Nomiation for ARG 3

I second the propsal for Vancouver BC, Canada, and would also like to throw in Toronto as an alternate Canadian site. *Edit* In keeping with the cardinal directions theme (West, East) it could be called ARGFest: The Great White North, Eh? */Edit*

So far both ARGCon and ARGFest have been below the Mason Dixon Line in geographical terms.

As far as different climates, Colorado Springs, CO has several nice attractions - Air Force Academy, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, and Pike's Peak (it was snowing when I visited it on July 12th one year); to the South West corner of Colorado is the Four Corners with Anisazi cliff dweller ruins just a day trip away from Colorado Springs, to the North West Corner is Dinosaur National Monument (longer than a day trip away).

Wyoming has Yellowstone National Park, which is beautiful, Old Faithful no longer the time keeper it once was but still a sight to behold.

Or we could all just go visit Lazarus in Montana and camp out on the back 40. Wink

**Edit- 25 more posts and I hit 1K messages on the boards, Wooo!**

Vancouver would be fun. If the skiing part interested anybody, Whistler is there -- friend of mine has gone there the past couple years to ski, and loves it there.

Or how about an ARGCruise? Alaska? Bahamas?
