[UPDATE] Ashgrove Park June 24 - Tragedy & Delayed Conte

Ashgrove Park wrote:
A Message from the Owners and Staff of Ash Grove Park
The Leeds family, along with the entire staff of Ash Grove Park, would like to express their condolences to the family of Mr. Mark Dunn, the local resident who fell to his death after making an unauthorized ascent up one of the attractions here at the park. Although Mr. Dunn was in the park illegally and without the knowledge of the staff or security personnel of Ash Grove Park, we recognize and sympathize with the grief that Mr. Dunn's widow, Ginny, and their son Mason are experiencing. We cannot comment at this time as to whether or not the accident was in any related to the tragic incident at the park in 2005, when the Dunn's daughter Sierra suffered a fatal fall from the same attraction, and refer that and any additional questions to the state and local authorities investigating the accident.

The accident has forced Ash Grove Park to delay our opening by at least two weeks, although an exact date has not been set pending results of safety and security investigations and testing. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused to any of our park patrons. We will announce the details of our new Grand Opening date as soon as possible.

We've also decided, under the circumstances, to postpone the Grand Finale of our ADMIT ONE Season Pass Game, originally scheduled for Saturday, June 24th. We do not feel it is appropriate at this time to conduct any events that are celebratory in nature, and do not wish to deprive those who have earned the right to take part in the Finale of the fun and excitement we have planned for them and the event. Unfortunately, primarily due to legal considerations and obligations, the Finale must occur sometime within the next two weeks, so we are looking to reschedule the event just as soon as an agreeable date is reached for all parties concerned. An update will be posted to our site as soon as possible, and we will be emailing all of the Finale qualifiers over this weekend with information about their participation. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Again, we offer our sincere apologies and sympathy to the friends and family of Mr. Dunn, and to the unfortunate Ash Grove Park customers who were waiting to enter the park that morning and witnessed the tragedy.

That's my real name, and I've never gotten used to seeing it in print...
