[SPEC] Is Persephone Rachel Blake?

One word: professionalism. With persephone, she's sleek, undercover, sneaky, calculated, and has not been recognized by THF. On the other hand, Rachel is over-the-top, outspoken, sloppy, and has been recognized by THF. I could not see Rachel being P based on this fact alone. P seems way too smart to be so out-in-the-open about all of this.

I dont know about your #4 against simply because we dont know who that is in the little vid. But we dont have any evidence one way or antoher.

The one big point against is that Rachel pretty much says so. She thanks Persephone for work.

Rachel doesnt seem all that worried about hideing her identity, there just dosent seem any reason for her not to come out and say that she is Persephone.

Also I think that it would be a better story if they were not the same person so Ill go with that.

Listening carefully to the audio comparisons I'm even more convinced they're not the same. There are similarities to the point that I almost think Rachel B. is intentionally trying to talk like Persephone. I'm not sure why she'd do this, however, unless perhaps there is something to the spec about her being a Hanso plant.

At any rate, I'm listening to their voices side-by-side and over-and-over, and I keep arriving at the same conclusion. Persephone's voice is more mature. I don't know how else to say this except to say that it just is. I recognize that quality in a voice because I'm attracted to it. Just listening to Persephone makes me want her, but I'm not drawn in the same manner to Rachel's voice. Does that make any sense?

Also, from a pure audio comparison, Persephone's voice is ever-so-slightly higher. I know you'd think "mature" would mean "lower," but that's not the case. "Maturity" in a voice has more to do with quality and class. It has nothing really to do with being higher or lower (to a degree it may, but not when the comparison is close).

Well, I would attach it, but I click on the "Add an Attachment" box and nothing happens.

Anyway, I uploaded her first video in WMV format to my website, and I also posted two sections of audio from RB's video -- one is of her saying, "Persephone," and the other is of her asking, "He calls himself a doctor, but a doctor of what?"

Of course, that assumes that Persephone is a single individual. Could Persephone simply be an identity assumed by a group of individuals, one of these being Rachel Blake and another being the person hacking the Hanso Foundation website?

I find it interesting that when rachels update with the im log popped up no one believed shes persephone, just that shes copying her name for her screen name, yet when openershep originally appeared on the compass site it was just assumed it was persephone.

I'm still sticking witht he twin idea, only because of the argument ninja and the speaker are having. I figure if they're both in game maybe theyre both right. It may be crazy but it's just as plausible as any other theory right now.

Besides, this whole game is starting to feel like one big Hanso social experiment. Come september were all gonna have a hanso video appear on our computer screens with marvin candle thanking us for wasting our summer.

Anyway, on topic, I personally am still sure that they must be the same person, purely because of when Rachel said "thanks to Persephone" she sorta pauses, and mentally puts quotation marks around it (If you can't see what I mean, it's as if she's saying "Thanks to "Persephone"") and then does a sorta knowing smile. *see attatched gif*

And to counter the against on the website about Rachel not hiding the videos herself - Persephone only seemed to hack the Hanso-related websites. If she was an employee, she'd have access to them anyway.

you know, i think i would be disappointed if rachel turned out to be p. its too bloody obvious. there needs to at least be some kind of "bad twin" twist to it.
