About Mr Emerson Mr. Emerson, bitter but smart. He'll find you who you want, who you need, but he will come down hard on you if you don't listen

Has anyone else had trouble with the "what would you call me puzzle". It looks simple and i am sure i know the answer but it is not working.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I think the answer should be a four letter girls name

Your problem, Tallerbird, is that
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the text does not in fact contain a four-letter girl's name. It lacks that name entirely.
Hope that helps.

No problem. Incidentally, although I got the 3rd puzzle (the one we were just talking about), I skipped the 2nd puzzle (with the binary numbers) when I got stuck. Any clues?
Here's what I've tried:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Each row is 15 digits, so I can't read 8-digit numbers. I tried turning each row into one largish number...
10424
11194
02232 (left leading zero in for alignment)
11195
10379
...but those obviously aren't ASCII. I noticed that with the leading zero on the fourth number, this gives me a 5x5 square, but I couldn't go anywhere with that.
I also tried reading each row as an 8-digit binary number and a 7-digit one, but again got non-ASCII values.
I'm sure the real answer will be obvious in its simplicity.
EDIT: Never mind! Got it. It was sort of a two-for-deal from the hint ilikepucks gave me for a different puzzle!

I am still stuck on the first one! I have tried tons of guesses but no dice. Can someone give a stronger nudge please?

ndemeter, all of the words have similar meanings that give you a hint as to what to do next.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Specifically, they all have to do with beginnings.
A slightly more specific hint:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Consider the first letter of each word.
More spoilerific:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You'll need an anagram of the first letters of the words.

I've gotten to 20% with Mr. Emerson. Here's what I have so far:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
My name is Mr. Emerson, and I am dead. There are five ghosts that live in this house, and they like to pretend that they aren't dead. Me, I know I'm dead, I'm not going to pretend otherwise. If you connect to me, I'll let you know something about what's going on here, where they are going, what they are doing. I won't dress up what I have to say, either... provided your soul can make the connection.
I know that they're all saying I did it. That's just because they don't like me, don't like being reminded that they're not alive. Sure, I was there before any of them but only because I heard the crash and wanted to check on that contraption downstairs. Even though I try to stay out of the business of the living, I feel sorry for Madame Z. She needs this thing to work, so I want to make sure that it does.
Ah, contact. I can feel you... maybe your mind is sharp. Want some advice? Keep your eye on that Nickolas guy. That's America's dream right there, pulled himself up by his boot straps. Right. I'll bet you a sawski that he stepped on a bunch of honest guys to get there, used their brains to get him where he is. I know a lot of smart men that were crushed under guys like that. Don't you believe him when he says that he's always at his wife's side. I've seen him roaming around the house at night, poking around at Madame Z's things. He's up to something.

I am really stuck on this - like you I tried ASCII, I then thought it might be Morse.
I then tried looking for the hint you got but couldn't find it - could you give me a nudge in the right direction please
Cheers

Hints for binary number puzzle:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The numbers aren't really numbers at all.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The puzzle is much more visual than that.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Think pixels. Graph paper might help.

At 40% there is this message with place to reply.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Lahmina needs attention, like a spotlight. She's like a siren, always "look at me, look at me." Always looking at herself in the mirror and adjusting her veil like some showgirl in the spotlight. It would not surprise me that she did this just for attention. Just ask her, I bet she'll throw off that veil and throw herself at your mercy... just so you'll look at her.
And now at 60%...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Did you hear about the kid? I should have known. Still, it takes some courage to try a stunt like that doesn't it? If you want my advice, and I know you do... cut the kid some slack. Sometimes the desperate thing seems like the only thing you can do. He was trying to do something right. I know that doesn't always end the way we expect.
Hey, I've got something else for ya. Nick was outside last night, looking up at Madame Z's window. He was drawing something in the dirt. I just happened to wander by after he'd left, and I saw what he'd written. "Z" and a little ways away "DZ" and further away "DM." DZ. Hmm.
