There is something missing on the world map. It's pretty blatant, considering we've tramped all over it.

sorry guys - I'm not going to give any hints as it is pretty certain that someone else will crack it before 7 tonight - good luck & I guess it'll be the fastest on the draw when the site opens up.

You guys need to quit PMing me. There may be a dozen names logged in but the gazillion lurkers are really bogging me down with PMs....I am trying to work the puzzle.
Thanks!

Well Guys - - good luck. I Have to head to work and won't be able to join you. The only hint I can give from comparing the Japanese on this site (coordinate box) with the answer coordinate box on the other islands is that the words don't read the same (for example they clearly don't say enter the number in 1234N5678W). I presume that means we're looking for a word based answer, but that's a guess.

It's not a word based answer, it's exactly the same format as the previous puzzles.

Translation? What does the answer box on the JP site say? If we are not looking for coordinates this time, it might be good to know that.

world map puzzle All I can say is that I had fun.
Thanks to all who helped me when I was dense. And I hope I helped someone else when the clue was crystal to me.
Don't even expect to come close to knowing the next coordinates.
I also have the slowest dial up on the planet.
Looking at the map moving way to fast is making me seasick. Why does it just keep on scrolling like that??
Looked on it to see what was missing-can only guess cause it's old world stuff. Guess I'm just too tired.
Sometime-somebody email or pm me a clue or hint that may make my pea brain light up.
If I won-HAHAHAHAHA -probably too fat and old to go stompin around the dirt. I'd go for the flight, hotel and of course the food. I Like goin on vacation.
AGAIN-A BIG THANKS FOR THE BOAT RIDE-IT ROCKED!!

Has anyone else noticed something new on Isla Mas A Tierras?
Here is what I have so far:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Extra characters that are probably part of coordinates:
1- Sargasso Sea: maybe 1 (unlucky one)
2- Bermuda: obvious 5, maybe S (… in morse code), maybe 7 (seas or trees on left)
3- Madiera: obvious 5, maybe 8 (on it's side, looks like infinity)
4- Tropic of Cancer: obvious N
5- Saint Helena: obvious 7
6- Saint Mary: obvious 7
7- Pulau Jong: obvious 1, maybe 5 or S, maybe 2
8- Diomede: maybe 1, maybe N
9- Isla Mas A Tierras: 3 (marks that were not there before after the W), maybe lots of stuff (S, 5, 1, 2, W)
10- Cape Horn: maybe 1
11- Cozumel: obvious W
12- Isla Culebra: 6 (lightning over island during opening), maybe W, maybe 1
13- Port Royal: 7 (seven seas tamed?)
Coordinate Guesses so far:
1575n7711w – no
1575n7721w – no
2558n7715w – no
1755n7712w – no
6155n77131w - no
1155n77131w – no
1755n7713w – no
1155n7713w – no
0505n7701w - no
1155n77113w – no
7155n7713w – no
If this helped you out getting the final answer can you PM me a hint? I'm still struggling to get the right coordinates.
The only other thing I'd like to comment on is that perhaps the order of the coordinates is not based on the locations in order but rather there is something linking one location to another. For example, the plate on Bermuda linking to Tropic of Cancer (same plate) and perhaps Cape Horn (morse code). I know there's a few locations that mention The Tempest, and a few that have references to infinity, as well as references to a serpent.
