US site is different, but I haven't figured it out yet. The puzzle at the bottom of the box is the same,

find the extra piece not needed to make a full square
. I just can't figure out what the lid is supposed to look like. Sassy, your logic would be good if it applied uniformly to all 8 of the charaters. I still think

Serenity
is the key, but how do you use it?

The seventh symbol on the lid looks exactly like the "Wingdings2" font for ~. That's the only thing I can decipher.

try this... minus pirate nicks numbers from the number on the box, you get:
3869 0893
-
1624 7583
=
2245-7310
Now thats more like a co-ordinate that looks similar to what has already been used throughout the game. Thats what I submitted any ways....

How could it be used?
Overlay SERENITY on the symbols.
Remaining visible "lines" from lid are then counted for each symbol.
Reaarange in order as determined by the box.

Basically he means look at my method - the way of obtaining how the order in which the numbers are entered using the box matching technique.
Now apply the order numbers to the numbers on the lid.
This gives an 8 digit code which has taken the entire puzzle into account.

Because someone posts it on their blog, doesn't mean it's the answer. This is the same guy behind the fake Port Royal pics, fake Golden Key, etc...Consider the source.

Yeh prometheus has completed it on his site - he got the answer i got when I combined both the methods. However he has said previously he will not be competing in the competition so even though he has done it it is still up for grabs.

The US solution on the http://pirateloot.blogspot.com/ just counts the lines in each symbol for the lid. That just seems too simple. Not sure if I believe it.

Prometheus used the same method I did (see previous posts). I am still inclined to think that this is the correct solution as it combines both the box lid and the inside of the box.
I have had a couple of messages asking me what I have submitted, so I have attached my solution for the UK only, as a Word 2000 doc.
If I am right, I know I got in too late as I didn't submit it until about 9pm Uk daylight whatever time, so I know that loads of people must have got there first.
But, here it is anyway

Spain For the UK game, the suggestion with the columns and rows makes sense, really.
But how do you combine the UK lid (same as in Spain) with the box of Spain?[/img]
