Right, so that's a bottle of Smirnoff and two straws then, yes? I think I can stretch to that without backrupting Bulgaria

It will probably affect only those travelling *from* the south-west trains area, but worth bearing in mind nontheless.

This is precisely the reason why I'm glad that I'm on holiday in london, not travelling up, going up on the 30th so should be there for this, I've RSVP'd, I think they could get a small suprise with the number of people hoping to attend this.

But I'm twice as distressed as Juxta. How is this fair? Laughing

Because while you got the looks, I got the brains?

Also, I have to put up with you as well Chris, so my emotional distress is already fast approaching "Claims Direct" levels.

I fear this may be a rocky path to walk down. But in comparison to the mildly ginger, gangly freak of man that's Jamie Dempster....hell yes.

Have you seen the picture of the gold card on the card catalog. It has lots of signatures on it. How will you get this card, will they be in special packs or will they be given out separately at another event?

I want one!!

It was given out as a prize for the video comp. They were marked out of 333 so we think there will be some more given out the future. No idea when or how though.

Your safety emoticon is insufficient... I'm afraid you'll be having an 'accident' on that rocky path.

Apparently the strike is cancelled. That makes up for the two trains that were also cancelled when I found this out.

Isn't this a penguin? They 'fly' underwater.

If you see the extract in context, I think it's trying to emphasise the 'loneliness' by using the idea that for example even though they are flying about, the birds aren't singing, and the sun is cold and lifeless, like the whole world is in mourning - it's taken from Lament for Yin Yao, a Chinese poem translated by Vikram Seth.

Quote:
How long can one man's lifetime last?
In the end we return to formlessness.
I think of you waiting to die.
A thousand things cause me distress -

Your kind old mother's still alive.
Your only daughter's only ten.
In the vast chilly wilderness
I hear the sounds of weeping men.

Clouds float into a great expanse.
Birds fly but do not sing in flight.
How lonely are the travelers.
Even the sun shines cold and white.

Alas, when you still lived, and asked
To study non-rebirth with me,
My exhortations were delayed-
And so the end came, fruitlessly.

All your old friends have brought you gifts
But for your life these too are late.
I've failed you in more ways than one.
Weeping, I walk back to my gate.
