[ZOMG PHYSICAL MAIL] Cognivia sent me cards! I kid you not, I went and checked my mailbox just a few minutes ago. In addition to the usual junk (credit card ads, bills, etc.), I found this:
Return address: 185 Madison Avenue, Room 1106, New York, NY 10016
Recipient address: PFC Peter Walker, (street excised), West Shokan, NY, 12494
I've only used that name for three ARGs: I Love Bees, Project: Gateway, and . . . Perplex City.
So, I flip it over, and what do I see? This:
This in particular stands out to me:
So, I read through the blurb on the back:
Gree4tings,
Congratulations for accurately describing what was hidden in the advertisement recently placed in Computer Gaming World. You have successfully won a pack of Perplex City cards. These devious puzzles, designed by the Perplex City Academy, should stretch your brain even further (and there's always Ceretin if you don't feel you're up to the challenge!)
Thank you for taking the time to respond to us!
Sincerely,
Cognivia
So, yeah. I'm just a wee bit flabbergasted here. Anyone else receive one?

Do you remember what answer you entered as the solve for the advert?
I think people would finally like to be able to know what the answer to this is.

If I remember correctly, the answer was either "lightbulb" or "light bulb".

I don't remember if I even entered that...
and yeah I'm weird.. I want to know who's address that is (the return address, obviously..) probably CGW, but they're on 28th street.. and 185 Madison Ave is a 17 story office building.. (mind candy wouldn't have an office in new york.. that would be too convenient for me...)

Kudos to you Macavity, sticking to your guns when everyone else thought it was an elephent!
It'll be interesting to see how many more of these turn up!
Just to confirm, they only sent you one pack of cards in the package?

Yup, just the one. (Still, one free pack of cards is nothing to sneeze at . . . *ah-choo!*)

Nope - a mix of waves 1-3. (Darn.)

I also just recieved a package from them, although my asnwer was "inspiration" not lightbulb, so perhaps the answer was a bit more subjective.

Sarcasm meter is an inelegant term.
Let's stop using it.
