OK, the image puzzle is officially rating this ARG as "cool" in my book. Wink

Jumping on board as well.

Hmm - maybe use the number string from 'updates_log' on the grid?

Also, anyone notice the odd syntax/punctuation on the last line ?

Should be "Your next" - not sure what to make of it tho.

Still no luck with the 'What am i?' puzzle tho Sad

And as always - great work Smile

Edit - Could someone please post the solution method for the maze puzzle (not just the link please) since google seems to not want to show the page anymore (we must have sent too much traffic that way Razz ).

AIGHT. I started this shitzy today, but i think i'm on a roll.
after reviewing the page source on landalan.org, i found this:

<!-- In the ages of democracy, and the endless files of a bloated government, much is looked over. Behind each closed door is a story to be told - every file leads somewhere. -->

it seems to have changed from last time anybody looked...

trout? possibly...

Ive been waiting for a good ARG since eon8 turned out to be nothing, and after starting my own small ARG for some of my friends in school i decided to find a new one, this one caught my eye and ive gotten up to this point where it asks for coordinates...it asks for the ones we recieved in "the sewer" so i went back and viewed the source and found nothing important but three numbers...not sure if this helps or not...because usually coordinates are two number sets...

EDIT--

sorry, it was only two numbers...how ever there is a string of 0-9 below all those letters...hope this helps ><

(first arg, first post, so please go easy on me)

I have been trying to approach the persistent.html puzzle by thinking of the two "dates" we have been given as coordinates.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

11 51 04 60 00 would spell out "ZNARK"
11 55 02 04 00 would spell out "ZJEAX"
However these are meaningless. Tried a rot13 decode by hand to no avail.

I have tried adding them together to get 22 60 42 64 00 which spells out "WRTHO" which anagrams to "throw" or "worth". Neither helped.

So far not I have not really gotten anywhere, but I thought I would throw this out.

Using the date of the next update 8/8/2006 we get ARG. Can get no further with that though.

Wow, good solve cvk, but still frustrating that we're stymied. I will mention that the updates page (from the sewer page) mention that we need the direction of the sewer flow... I'm wondering if this plays into it at all.

hangman42: here is the solution I used
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Take this and rotate it 90 clockwise so that the blue and green squares match the red 'P' and '$' positions.

Then follow the path (P->$) to get the letters.

i am probably missing something

has anybody noticed that the first letter of each of the sections in style2.css say "bab" ?

this is parrallel to the style.css clue to future.html, but it doesn't seem to help. i tried ROT13ing it and a few other ROTs but it seems pretty lame to me.

i guess its just a stupid trout.

also the word enigma is on the left side of that little group of jumbled letters where you put the coordinates.

Ok - just rechecked the 'persistent' page (may also be known by the source title 'Or so we say...').

The text at the bottom of the puzzle grid has changed from :

Quote:
Operative, use the coordinates you were given. You're next assignment awaits.

In the original version to this :

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Operative, use the coordinates you were given in the sewer. Your next assignment awaits.

Good start there aareth - will continue looking into it - will try alt co-ords and other rot sequences.

P.S. many thanks for that post of the 'maze' solve cvk Smile

Edit : using co-ords on grid I got either ZJEAX or ZJRCX - neither ROT's to anything usable as far as i can see. Have tried Enigma coding but there seem to be to many variables for me to pin down which to use.

Yeah, there's a couple other words in there too, but I don't think they matter much (Astounding, Grid, Dr. Mctrapy Confused )

But seeing Enigma made me think of the enigma machines from WWII. I haven't found anything yet and could very well be a dead end. I'm guessing the answer to the riddle will help us more.

Seeing that Landalan seems to be quite a serious puzzly game/potential ARG so far, it seemed like a good thing to move it to this forum, where there is a little bit more room to properly discuss it.

Because the game involves multiple (simultaneous) puzzles, it might become convenient to have more than one thread for the, which is possible in this forum. Please read through the posting guidelines for this forum and tag any new thread with the [LANDALAN] tag to keep things tidy. Enjoy!
