 The Bandages are off

Friday was the last visit at Wound care for me. after close to 3 years of dealing with an open sore that didn't want to heal it is finally closed and yesterday was the last time I had to wear the three layer compression bandage.

I still need to wear compression stockings to help keep it from opening back up, but I can take them off to shower or take a bath. After needing to wrap my leg in plastic on and off over the last 5 years you don't know how happy this makes me. While I have been showering, today was the first good long soaking bath I have had in 3 years. In my new bath tub that we put in about 6 weeks ago.

My leg feels a lot lighter, and cooler and ... well I need to get some sun on it, but I feel a lot better now that I can get back to a normal life.
